Our experience in Red Ridge was amazing!! We had a micro wedding with about 30 guests. Chris and Bethany and their staff are very professional :) we felt very comfortable since day 1, they made sure every single detail was taken care of. They were extremely flexible with many of our changes, they have great ideas and suggestions, we knew they have a lot of experience with weddings since our first conversation. They made sure the WHOLE wedding planning process was smooth and the least stressful possible for us. We HIGHLY recommend Red Ridge for your wedding or any other event. Star Hill is a re-creation of a Texas Hill Country community typical of the early 1900s. All of the buildings have been relocated from around the state and carefully restored. Star Hill is centered around the historic Pontotoc Chapel, which has hosted thousands of public worship services and weddings since we opened in the beautiful Hill Country in 2004.

Venue considerations

Not only did my wife & I get married here (twice, thanks to the covid shutdown!) & have our son baptized in Star Hill's Chapel, but I've also worked with the Star Hill family as a wedding cake vendor for over a decade. I can say without hesitation that it's my favorite venue to work with & a consistently stunning backdrop for your most special celebrations. Matt, Adam, & Renee are so easy to work with & adopt every couple into their family. They're loving & genuinely care for their clients, which is rare in such a booming industry. On top of their good character, the pricing is fair, the property offers a wide array of charming indoor & outdoor options, & they make it easy to either hand-pick each of your vendors or receive vetted recommendations from their list of preferred vendors. Our wedding guests still talk about this amazing venue 3 years later!

In addition to the Tiny Chapel there is a 1325 square foot reception hall. It is DIY. You set up and break down. You can rent our tables and chairs if you want. If you need an officiant, one lives on-site. There is a bridal cabin and a man shed for grooms. Or if you’re two brides or two grooms, y’all can flip a coin and see who gets what space. You can easily fit 80 guests in the reception hall so if it rains, you are literally covered. We have hosted hundreds of weddings from elopements to bigger events. We’d love to work with you if our vibe suits your vibe and vice versa.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Has a relaxed and casual vibe
  • Has an intimate feel for a small guest list
  • Caters to out-of-town guests

Venue considerations

  • Couple must handle cleanup and setup
  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • Does not allow pets

I've photographed weddings long enough to know where my talent lies as a photographer, and that is capturing weddings with less pomp and circumstance, more soul and intimacy. This is the space that Spike Gillespie has created at Tiny T Ranch. She is a rescuer: of animals, of a tiny chapel poised as the most perfect backdrop, of experiences that are warm and generous. If you want a wedding that is not just an event but a cherished memory, I can't recommend Spike and the Tiny T enough.

Not only was the venue beautiful, but the staff really are the stars of this review. Kim, the venue coordinator was amazing to work with! She was accommodating, available, and such a fun personality to be around. The bar staff that we had serve during our wedding were amazing as well! They were quick and kept the guests moving quickly. Everyone raved about the wedding and how beautiful the venue was. I was scared I wasn’t going to make the venue very wedding like since it’s a distillery, but the space was gorgeous on its own and as a minimalist bride, I was able to include some touches that just made the whole venue stand out. Oh! And the drinks were AMAZING! Kim even went above and beyond by naming some of their drinks to match our names.

Bella Nido was the perfect venue for our intimate wedding celebration. The owners were incredibly courteous, timely, and accommodating throughout the entire planning process. The venue itself provided a comfortable and cozy space that allowed us to truly enjoy the company of all our guests. We have countless people tell us how special our wedding felt, and we believe that was in large part due to the attention to detail the owners have put into the space and having a live band! What a blast! It truly felt like a wedding from a movie, and we were so grateful to be able to have several of our guests stay on-site to extend the celebration. We cannot recommend Bella Nido highly enough for couples looking for an intimate and memorable wedding experience.

I am a bride who constantly second guessed myself, but I always felt confident with my choice of venue, and have zero regrets. We toured sooo many venues, stonehouse had everything we wanted and more- lovely ceremony, cocktail, and reception space, plus a rain plan I knew I would be happy with. They also allowed us to have our dog in the ceremony, which was so special.

Camp Lucy was above and beyond in every way! The space was gorgeous, the staff was so helpful and friendly, and the experience itself was so wonderful. Our account manager Laura was always so helpful and very sweet and friendly, she helped everything go so smoothly and was super at communicating and answering all of our questions! The venue itself was beautiful and the perfect mix of outdoor-indoor spaces for our ceremony and reception. The bridal and groom suites were gorgeous, and our food and drink service that morning was wonderful. The Camp Lucy catering and bar staff were also phenomenal the entire night! We stayed on-site in one of the resort suites, and that experience was also above and beyond thanks to the lovely staff. Aside from being a beautiful venue, Camp Lucy is also a wonderful resort with really cool historical points and a great (seriously, so good!) restaurant. We will definitely be back to celebrate our anniversary!

Three of our homes are perfect for families, with twin beds in the lofts that the kiddos will love. Two of our cabins are pet-friendly. Why you'll love this venue

  • Multiple event spaces
  • Has onsite accommodations
  • Has a dance floor for celebration

Venue considerations

  • Not for you if you prefer a more modern aesthetic
  • Additional event staff required
  • No in-house lighting and sound packages available
We secured Cedar Break at Howard Ranch as our wedding venue on 8 June 2024. We housed 42 guests between 10 cabins, the Old Bar N, and all 5 Airstreams. We held a pre-party in the Old Barn N, which accommodated all guests downstairs and on the balcony above. We reserved the Tobacco Barn for the ceremony to include a buffet-style dinner and plenty of room for dancing afterward. Due to the heat, we rented portable AC units and fans for the barn to keep the temperature down in the Texas heat. The 3-day weekend event was a success with no issues and no complaints. The staff went above and beyond to ensure all our guests, accommodations, and the wedding ceremony were perfect. Many of our guests said they want to return to Cedar Break for a personal getaway in the Texas Hill Country again. If you are looking for a wedding venue with onsite accommodations, this is hands down the place to get!

Which Wedding Venue Types Are Most Popular in Texas?

Texas venues offer distinctly regional experiences that capture the state's diverse character. Hill Country locations around Fredericksburg give you gorgeous vineyard settings with beautiful limestone architecture and sunset views that will take your breath away. How Far in Advance Should You Book Your Texas Venue?

Texas couples typically book their wedding venues about 16 months (or 457 days) before their wedding date. November stands out as the most popular month for venue inquiries so planning early is essential if you're considering this timeframe. This advanced booking timeline helps you secure your preferred date since popular venues often fill their calendars far in advance especially for prime weekend dates. Booking early also allows you to lock in current pricing before annual increases that many venues implement. Plus you'll have more time to work with venue coordinators to customize floor plans and discuss details that will make your celebration uniquely yours.

Where Can You Find Accessible Wedding Venues in Texas?

Madera Estates in Conroe stands out for its commitment to accessibility with fully paved event spaces that accommodate wheelchair navigation throughout the property. Venues like Agave Estates Mara Villa and The Middleton Venue in Katy specialize in creating interactive remote experiences that make distant guests feel truly present. You can work with these venues to design custom interactive elements that go beyond passive viewing. Think virtual guest books where remote attendees can leave video messages remote toasts synchronized with in-person celebrations and even coordinated dance moments. These thoughtful touches ensure everyone feels included in your celebration regardless of where they're located.
