“I looked forward to every Tuesday night when my friends and I would gather at Brother Jimmy’s Murray Hill to watch The Barnstorm and dance until we couldn’t feel our feet. I knew in 2017 that one day I would get married and I wanted to recreate this wonderful feeling that I would get every Tuesday night. WELL, joke’s on me because I got that feeling and more. I do not even have words for the atmosphere that The Barnstorm created on our wedding day. Leading up to that day, Brooks was INCREDIBLY attentive to the hundreds of questions that I bombarded him with on a daily basis. He walked me through pricing, how the first dances would go, what kind of music gets played during dinner – every question came with an immediate follow up and a “how are you doing?” – completely above and beyond what a typical wedding band would provide. And that was before our wedding day even happened! The day of was indescribable. The atmosphere provided by The Barnstorm was absolutely electric and had every single person on the dance floor from 8 pm to 1130 pm. I genuinely feel like our wedding was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. The band is absolutely magnetic. To top it off about one week after our wedding, as we were reliving the day, I get a text message from a friend saying “we booked your wedding band!”. They are THAT freaking good. “Hoi Polloi - 10/10 having a band was super important to us. Hoi Polloi was everything we could have hoped for and more! They played all the music we asked for and were great to work with from the start. We booked them for our ceremony, our cocktail hour, and had 11 people with horns and a DJ. They were fantastic to work with and we loved working with them. Jim is super responsive which makes a difference. He made sure the band knew all the music we wanted to play and they even interacted with guests (which I loved).They are also VERY reasonably priced and should probably charge more! They were great. I think the biggest compliment is that people from all ages kept saying they loved them which was perfect to me. They opened with Runaround Sue which is one of the best wedding songs in the world. Everyone got on the dance floor once that song came on and they didn’t leave.”

We encourage our clients to come out and hear us live to decide for themselves. Much better than viewing a video and trusting it was all done live in one take.
