We were fortunate to have perfect weather the entire weekend. But the hospitality, service, food, location & splendor of a well kept historic grand dame hotel made our entire experience a spectacular, elegant and enjoyable weekend for everyone! Guests enjoyed golfing, hiking, relaxing by the pool or the veranda surrounded by gorgeous views all weekend. Friday evening we entertained our guest with a private welcome party on the South Veranda. We were able to customize a menu with the chef- treating everyone with a taste of South Indian dishes honoring the region of India our son-in-law & family are from. The ceremony & reception were held at the Rosewood Lodge at the top of Brettonwoods Ski Area. A gondola ride to the top provided a fun experience, helping to build the excitement for the main event. Having the entire lodge, patio top of mountain to ourselves made it feel exclusive and very special. Accommodations- the MW is a magnificent grand historic hotel beautifully decorated with beautiful grounds. It is clean & well maintained for being 125 year old large busy hotel. The bride & groom had their 1st look at the main hotel- providing a beautiful setting & capturing the grandeur of the hotel. Service & Hospitality- in a word it was-Outstanding! The wedding consultant(Katarina Doucette- Senior Catering Sales Manager) was so helpful, accommodating & responsive throughout the entire process. Every staff member from the banquet coordinators, chef, servers, hotel cleaning staff & front desk took such special care of us - despite being a busy summer weekend we felt we were exclusive guests of the hotel. A special shout out to the gondola operators- they were so helpful getting our wedding decorations loaded & up/down the mountain. They even enthusiastically decorated the bride & grooms gondola with lighting for a crazy/fun send off at the end of the night! To end the weekend - we had a delicious Sunday brunch buffet for our guests in the beautiful main dining room. \nWe utilized nearly every area & aspect of the Mount Washington Resort and had great experiences the entire weekend! Weddings are expensive but we felt every penny we spent was well worth it and appreciated at The Omni Mount Washington Resort. As soon as my then fiance and I visited we fell in love with it. The property is large with plenty of room for people to spread out and have fun. So many of our guests came up to us to say how beautiful the venue is and we couldn't agree more. Gloria the barn has so much character that we kept our decorations simple because for us, the barn was perfect as it was.\n\nWhile we kept the decorations simple, the pay it forward attic was a huge help in the planning process. It was so nice to be able to use some of the decorations that were left over from past weddings so we weren't stuck with having to buy decorations that we'll never use again.\n\nThe staff couldn't have been more helpful right from the initial start of the planning until the end of the night on our wedding day. They're very experienced and were excellent at helping us figure out exactly what we wanted for our special day. Having them there the day of the wedding was invaluable, they were such a big help with everything from setting up to reminding us about things on our itinerary that we were starting to forget about. All in all we were lucky to find Fairytale and have our wedding there. I honestly wouldn't be able to find a single negative thing to say even if I tried. The food was spectacular, the tent was beautiful, and the lake views were amazing. But the real stars of the show were the hospitality and service from Kim and other staff members at the Loon Lodge. They went above and beyond the entire weekend. Everyone at our wedding sung the praises of the staff including their hard work, friendly demeanors, and their creativity to fix things when unexpected things happened. For example, when the florist’s arbor fell over and broke, the florist attempted to hold it together using ribbons and flowers that looked awful. Kim immediately fixed it using fishing line and it ended up looking beautiful as the fishing line wasn’t even noticeable and especially won’t be seen in pictures. Kim also tried extremely hard to have the ceremony outside despite forecasts of rain. Having the ceremony outside was the one thing I really wanted to happen that weekend. Kim was constantly checking the forecast that day and saw that there would be a window of opportunity without rain and at the last minute made an outside ceremony happen. Additionally, I didn’t realize that we never assigned someone to be in charge of the cake-cutting. Kim saw it was not being cut and went out of her way to cut everyone a slice of cake. There were many moments like this and I’m sure way more that happened behind the scenes that we weren’t privy to. The bartenders and other staff members, especially the chef, also did a fantastic job. Choosing the Loon Lodge Inn for our venue was the best decision I made regarding wedding planning. My now husband and I plan to return here for an anniversary trip one day. I think the pictures speak for themselves as to how gorgeous this venue is. When we were looking at venues in the fall of 2022, the minute we stepped foot into the Lakehouse at Owl’s Nest we knew it was our venue. Much has changed at Owl’s Nest over the last 20 months since we booked. Like other couples, this was exciting and also anxiety-provoking at times. The construction never seems to end with all of the additions to the property, but all of the changes just make ON an even more incredible destination. We loved the feeling of being at a resort for our wedding weekend and truly being at a destination, regardless of how far or close it was to home. We (and our guests) took full advantage of the restaurant, hot tub and pool, driving range, and the whole property itself. The golf course itself wasn’t open for our wedding since they don’t open it until May, but the driving range and simulators were more than enough for the golfers who came. \n\nThe grounds are gorgeous (despite any ongoing construction). We have seen so many stunning photos of other couples and couldn’t wait for our turn! We were especially eager for gorgeous sunset photos. The weather and clouds didn’t necessarily work out for us, but that’s the risk anywhere. However, because we were at Owl’s Nest, we were able to still get out for additional photos as the sun was setting and they still turned out absolutely stunning thanks to the grounds and the views of the mountains! \n\nThe lodging on site is great! A huge bonus for us was the ability to bring our dog to stay with us since they have pet friendly lodging options. My husband and I stayed in a deluxe nano unit, which had a full kitchen, a living room, a bedroom, bathroom, and lots of closets! Our dog especially appreciated the closed off deck so she could freely roam inside and outside of our house. Our friends and family stayed onsite in Gambrel, Contemporary, and Lakeside units, as well as the new hotel, and even some Air bnb rentals (right on the property)! \n\nNow last but not least for my ON review…HAYLEA was our coordinator and we LOVE her. Owl’s Nest assigns your coordinator about 6 months before your wedding date (and before that you work with the manager). From our first meeting with Haylea, every minor detail that we were stressed or nervous about was eagerly addressed by Haylea. She set up our venue from top to bottom exactly as I envisioned it, and assisted us through an insane amount of seating chart adjustments. She supported us through the planning process but was also SO helpful throughout our day, making sure we had everything we needed, making sure we ate and drank, keeping us on the timeline (and making adjustments as needed).
