We first visited about a year before our wedding and immediately felt like it would be the perfect place for our special day. We were greeted by the resident golden retrievers, who followed us on our tour. If you’re a dog lover, you’ll be very happy with this venue! But really, it was Amie, Mary Beth and the rest of the staff who sold us. We immediately felt like they cared about making your day as perfect as possible for us, which was very welcome after touring other venues which felt like they wanted to squeeze every penny from us. After we decided on the venue, Amie was so willing to work with people like us who wanted to plan every detail possible. Amie answered all of my questions and sent additional information like floor plans so I could plan who was assigned to each room as soon as possible. Her communication over email was so incredible helpful! We absolutely loved that we could have so many guests staying at the inn and knew that would be perfect for our winter wedding. Next came our tasting, which was such a fun event. There are two tastings a year, both in March (though I think you could have a private tasting if you need). We loved being able to stay at the inn for a night and meet all of the other couples getting married here within the year. As our wedding was in February, we had to wait a long time between the tasting and trying the food again, and it absolutely didn’t disappoint! Chef Jeff did an amazing job with our welcome party, breakfast and lunch the day of the wedding, the absolutely amazing wedding dinner (and late night snacks), and brunch the next morning! We heard that most couples have a hard time eating during their weddings, but we cleaned our plates! Definitely try the butternut squash ravioli, it is incredible! We had our ceremony in the barn, then moved to the bar in the inn for cocktail hour, then dinner in the dining room, and dancing in the living room. They take out the big pieces of living room furniture and move some chairs to the side for dancing. A lot of my family was skeptical about that, but the inn knows what they’re doing!! The dance floor was plenty big for our party of 60 (and I’m sure it could have accommodate larger groups), and the chairs on the sides were a huge hit! It was incredible to be able to sit down for a minute and still feel like you’re a part of the party. I know a lot of our guests enjoyed that as well. We got ready in the Norman Rockwell suite, which worked out well since we had a small bridal party. We also loved getting to see all the rooms in the inn - every room is thought out so well and has little details that are so fun to find! We thought the inn was what made our wedding weekend so magical and cannot wait to visit again on anniversaries or other special occasions. The entire staff is professional and will accommodate anyone’s needs. The facility itself is first class. Golf, tennis, pickleball, brand new onsite housing with more amenities to come. With weather on our side we were able to have the perfect ceremony overlooking the mountains behind us and the sunsetting in the background. It was incredibly important to us to have all of family and friends in one spot for the weekend. We had guests from all around the globe, and everyone agreed there was no where like it. \nI highly recommend the firework send off at the end of the reception. It’s a wonderful show. \n\nThe Ogontz team went above and beyond. We are so grateful. Not only is the venue and the grounds amazingly stunning. The food was on point. Every meal was taken care of and no one complained. (When does that happen??) \nIt's been over a month, and our guests are still raving that it was the best wedding they've ever attended. The AMC is an awesome organization that makes the outdoors accessible to many people in New England. Even if that wasn't true, this would have been the best venue because the setting is so gorgeous. We rented the lodge from Friday-Sunday and had 60 guests stay in bunkbeds with us at the lodge on Friday and Saturday nights. The AMC staff made delicious food that met the dietary restrictions of all our guests. They let us set up all over the property and turn the forest into our dream ceremony location. We even cold plunged in the pond!
