“An Unforgettable Experience at The Hawthorne Hotel We had the most wonderful experience hosting our rehearsal dinner, welcome reception, and farewell brunch at The Hawthorne Hotel, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with our choice! From start to finish, every aspect of the service, food, and ambiance was absolutely perfect. The hotel’s vintage charm was exactly what we envisioned for our wedding weekend, and it provided the perfect setting for all of our events. The food was a highlight of our weekend. At the rehearsal dinner, we had the Chicken Milanese entrée, which was a huge hit with our guests. So many people mentioned how much they loved it, and the entire meal was delicious and beautifully presented. The service throughout all of our events was impeccable, and the wait staff was friendly and attentive, making everyone feel welcome and cared for. One of the things we loved most about the Hawthorne Hotel was how perfectly it fit our aesthetic for the wedding weekend. The vintage character of the hotel gave everything a timeless, elegant feel, and it was the ideal backdrop for our celebrations, even though our wedding and reception were off-site. We absolutely adored the hotel’s library space, which hosted our farewell brunch. The cozy, intimate atmosphere made it the perfect spot for a relaxed and meaningful gathering with our closest family and friends. The space was beautifully decorated, and it truly set the tone for a lovely, laid-back morning after the big day. Our hotel suite was equally impressive. It was spacious, comfortable, and the perfect place to unwind after a busy weekend. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and we both enjoyed a restful night’s sleep. It was a great retreat for us during such a busy time and offered everything we needed for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. A huge thank you to our amazing events coordinator, Beth Pasquarello. Beth was an absolute gem throughout the entire process. She was incredibly responsive, helpful, honest, and caring. We never felt out of the loop, and she was always there to offer advice and solutions. One great example of her attention to detail was when she helped us secure a microphone for the rehearsal dinner, ensuring everything went smoothly. Her professionalism and personal touch made the entire experience so much easier and stress-free. I had so many questions, and the Willowdale team was so prompt, helpful, and kind in their responses. As for the actual wedding, it was a total dream. The food is actually the best food ever... wedding food or not. It's been two months and everyone is still talking about it. The space is GORGEOUS and feels intimate and special while still accommodating larger weddings. Our coordinator, Julia, and the team worked with the florist and all the decor we dropped off ahead of time to execute the design and vision better than I could ever dream up. I was truly shocked when seeing the space - the attention and care to detail was unparallel and so gorgeous. And the BEST PART... “Danversport was the perfect venue—and the team truly went above and beyond for us. From the very beginning, the staff was responsive, flexible, and easy to work with. Every question we had was answered quickly, and the planning process felt smooth and supportive. But what really stood out was how they handled the unexpected. On our wedding day, my husband had a sudden allergic reaction that caused him to vomit and swell—we had to step away for nearly an hour. Tiffany, our onsite coordinator, was incredible. She kept checking in on us with so much compassion and care. Once things calmed down, the Danversport team gave us an extra hour to make up for the time we lost. That kind of empathy and flexibility meant the world to us. We also had a last-minute weather shift that forced us to move the outdoor ceremony inside. The team pivoted quickly, flipping the space quickly and beautifully. Our guests barely noticed the change, and everyone raved about how gorgeous and smooth the day felt. The setting, the service, the backup plans—they thought of everything. “I had my eye on The Grove at Briar Barn Inn since it was simply a blueprint on an Instagram post. From the start, I knew it was going to be where I would get married someday. There is just something so quintessentially charming about the post and beam restaurant and the quaint New England Inn. The entire experience working with The Grove was great. We picked December 8th for not only the idea of a winter wedding but also for the holiday decor and availability for our preferred vendors. They were flexible in putting together the details and stuck to all the outlined dates and deadlines. We were assigned our wedding coordinator, Jeannine, about six weeks out as they said, and we were able to have our wedding details meeting soon after. The payment portal was easy to use, and the planning pod was intuitive and a great spot to keep important details in order. Jeannine answered all my questions promptly, and in the week leading up to the wedding, she was available for us to drop off all the decor ahead of time and spent time reviewing our vision one last time. On the day of, she was present, available, and helpful. She was detailed and organized and never pushy. She let us have our day and was there to help transition to the different elements seamlessly, paying attention to all the details so we wouldn't have to. Our guests have had only positive things to say about the entire day from the incredible food and the overall atmosphere. The only critique I have of the entire experience is the check-in process at the Inn. We had a 20 room block and ended up with 29 of the 30 rooms booked by our guests. The Inn has a very strict 2pm early check-in for 50 fee or 3pm otherwise check-in. We had a Sunday wedding in December where we had a first look and formal portraits at 2pm before a 4:00 ceremony because of the early sunset. We weren't able to stay Saturday night due to another wedding buy-out. The Grove accommodated me by making the hospitality suite available for us to get ready in; however, the Inn did not accommodate the groom getting ready. We rented out the Silo/Library for 250 to try to have a space for the men to get ready, but they didn't set up the privacy screen and there were too many people milling around for him to get changed in the non-private space. After a lot of inquiry from our wedding coordinator, our officiant, and our makeup artist, they finally let him into the room at 1:45 for the additional 50, but at that point it was only enough time for him to drop his phone and wallet. He ended up changing in the single stall bathroom in the basement of the Inn, which is a nice bathroom of course, but we would have liked a little more flexibility for us to have 1 room with early check-in to give him a bit more privacy. Flipping one room early for the bride and groom doesn't seem like a lot to ask in the grand scheme of the day or even offering some alternatives - we likely would have paid for a full extra night even if we couldn't get into the room the night before just to have the spot, but they didn't give us any options to work with until 1:45 p.m. ahead of 2pm call time. My recommendation for future couples is to negotiate into the wedding contract for something ahead of time if you could potentially run into the same issue, especially if you're out of towners who don't have other options nearby.”

“My now wife and I were searching high and low for a wedding venue that would be something different than the typical wedding cookie cutter experience. We wanted a venue that was like no other and that our family and friends fell in love with. We came across The Bell Inn and it was truly the greatest find. The beautifully restored historical property locally located in a beautiful north shore city was truly a gem to find. The inn is so picturesque and also located steps away from downtown Peabody which provided even more beautiful backgrounds for photographs. As if the gorgeous property that photographs beautifully wasn’t enough, the food is superb, and the staff is incredibly accommodating, kind and go above and beyond. Every request and inquiry we made was met with a smile that exceeded my wife and I’s expectations. The moment we walked through the door we knew that this was the place we wanted to get married at. It is truly the perfect venue because it is one stop shop. My wife and I checked in on Friday afternoon to one of the ten picturesque suites. Each suite was meticulously clean and beautifully decorated which paid homage to the history of the building. We had our delicious rehearsal dinner which all of the guests raved about. We then enjoyed our dream wedding in the outdoor courtyard, with a menu my wife and I hand picked with the Inn manager’s help. Shout out to Heather who is simply the best! To finish the evening we were able to host our after party in the speakeasy. The next morning we had a delicious brunch to end the dream weekend. Everyone has not stoped talking about our wedding, including us. The rooms, the tavern, the courtyard, the speakeasy, are all the space you need! We love the Bell Inn and can’t wait to return for date nights, anniversaries, and to one day bring our children. The Bell Inn isn’t a place to us they became a family.”

“We had a room block here for our wedding in Beverly, and hosted a brunch the day after (you have to have a catered event at the hotel in order to have a room block). Overall, our experience was pretty good. The hotel has been recently renovated and the rooms were beautiful. The King Suite was great to get ready in - I had 11 people getting hair and makeup done, with 4 artists, and there was enough space. Having the Regatta Pub on site was perfect for a welcome event and post-wedding spot and could easily accommodate a large influx of people. The brunch was ready to go with plenty of tasty food and drink. They also were able to hand out welcome bags when guests checked in. Kristen, who organized the room block, was extremely communicative and responsive to our emails, and helped us add rooms to our block a couple times. We are rating 4/5 stars for a couple reasons. First is that housekeeping never came to the suite to clean after we had left for the wedding, so we returned at the end of the night to all of the room-service coffee/breakfast items that had arrived at 8:30 that morning. When we called the front desk, no one answered. Secondly, while the brunch was great, they do charge a large room fee and administrative fee.”
