Q: What do you wear?

Attire is important! It depends on the weather but typically I wear a button-down shirt and a blazer. I have a few stylish jackets that I bust out on special occasions.

Absolutely! As a performing singer/guitarist I'm always looking to expand my repertoire.

Q: What makes you different from other musicians?

I'm more on the indie/underground spectrum and my song choices reflect a wider range than what's typical at weddings. I'm more likely to perform a song by The Strokes than "Canon in D".

Q: Do you take music requests?

I always encourage people on the dance floor to come up and vibe with me. Many requests are awesome and perfect and I’ll absolutely spin them. Some are less perfect in my professional experience so I’ll either skip them or wait for the right moment. My couples and their immediate families always get a priority on song requests.

Q: Do you provide music for wedding ceremonies or cocktail receptions?

Absolutely! I actively mix the cocktail-hour set rather than simply set a playlist.

Q: Are you fully insured?

Yes and I can provide a COI for any event.

I match beats seamlessly, I mix in-key and I use effects like filters and delays to smooth out perfect song transitions. Preparation is important but nothing compares to simply showing up and reading the energy on the dance floor. Sometimes I’ll stick mostly to the playlist if it’s working or sometimes I’ll totally pivot. Honestly the unexpected, spontaneous moments are often the funnest ones.

From the moment we reached out to All Ears DJ, we were impressed by their professional and reliable communication style. Richard was always responsive to our questions and open to dialogue about our music preferences for the ceremony and reception. He also made themselves available to meet up with us in person leading up to the big day, which helped us feel prepared and confident in their abilities. On our wedding day, Richard provided high-quality sound for the ceremony as well as fun, energetic, and artistic music and lighting for the reception. His edgy style and energy helped balance out the fancy venue and black tie optional dress code - a contrast which was important to us. We are so grateful to have had All Ears DJ as part of our special day - he truly helped make it a celebration to remember!

Richard was helpful and respectful throughout our entire wedding planning process. He worked flawlessly with me, my partner, and our wedding planner to pull off an incredibly fun reception. Richard did an initial call with my partner to discuss the general vibe we were looking for, and we knew immediately he would be a great fit for our wedding. Richard gave us a helpful questionnaire to fill out key songs and general musical interests (and do not play songs). Richard was also happy to jump on calls with us to talk through our questions and hopes for our big day. I especially appreciated that Richard was able to play some German songs for some guests who had flown in from Germany, as that got even some of our older relatives on the dance floor. People were partying all night thanks to Richard! Richard catered to our wide age range of guests, and even gave us a couple of bonus closing songs that were the perfect conclusion to the night. We could not have asked for a better DJ.

Overall very happy with the music and service Richard provided. He was easy to communicate with on our music prefernences and expectations. He put together a great playlist for our wedding that included our favorites, but the best part was the way he adapted to our guests to keep people on the dance floor, shifting from modern music toward classic rock for the older crowd.

Richard was great. He was a Preferred Vendor for Saratoga Springs. He had a form that we filled out about a week ahead with music selections and do not plays. It was very thorough. He responded quickly when we reached out to him with questions. The music selection was mostly on me because my husband generally listens to instrumental. I listen to a wide variety of music, so I left it pretty open ended, which I was a little nervous about, but Richard pulled it all together. An eclectic mix, yet cohesive. We had a much smaller turn out than we were expecting and even more dropped out last minute, my guess is because of the weather. It was an outdoor venue and was rainy and cold all day, but managed to burn out by the time the party started. Only raining briefly after dinner (we had umbrellas for everyone). The music selection was great and everyone rallied and had a good time. The last song was All You Need Is Love and a kick line formed with the remaining friends and family. It was ridiculously amusing. 10/10 would recommend Richard to anyone. I spent a good amount of time listening to his mixes on Mixcloud and have really enjoyed them.
