Boardwalk Entertainment is a Hampton Roads–based DJ and photo booth company founded by husband-and-wife team Shawn and Carolyn Cox. For over 15 years, they’ve brought weddings to life with high-end DJ services, custom uplighting, and both vintage and modern photo booths. What began in 2009 as Boardwalk Photo Booth Company quickly expanded as couples asked for more—leading to the full-service experience that is Boardwalk Entertainment today.

As a small, owner-operated business, Boardwalk focuses on quality over quantity—because every wedding is more than just a date on the calendar. Couples work directly with Shawn, Carolyn, and their close-knit team, never an outsourced crew. My fiancé and I came across Boardwalk Photo Booth Company while attending The Virginia Peninsula Foodbank's "Tastefully Yours" event in 2018. There is something about the nostalgia of sitting in an actual photo booth that makes events so enjoyable. The quality of the photoprints, ease of use, and friendly booth attendants provided at great experience. One of the few things I knew I wanted at my wedding reception was a photobooth, so when the time arrived in 2020, Boardwalk was my first stop. Shawn was a joy to work with and a true professional. His timely communication, warm demeanor, and amazing customer service allowed for easy wedding planning. Having to re-schedule wedding plans due to COVID was not easy, but Shawn worked with us to ensure things moved along smoothly and was flexible to our needs. Guests really enjoyed our Photo booth. I would recommend Boardwalk Photo Booth Company (now Boardwalk Entertainment) to anyone looking for A quality service. We plan to use them at any future events we have.

Boardwalk Entertainment was truly outstanding in helping make our daughter’s destination wedding day everything we dreamed it could be. WOW! Just, WOW! Working with Shawn and his incredible team for both the classic photo booth and DJ services for our December wedding was such a wonderful experience, from beginning to end and beyond! All of our guests were blown away by the level of care and attention given to the photobooth setup, props, and guest book, and Shawn kept us on the dance floor rocking all night! Shawn also helped us out when I came to him with a photo strip idea for our save the dates, put together a beautiful logo for us for our wedding day photo strips, and was so awesome to work with on our wedding day playlist and timeline! Big shout out to Allie and Carter for helping our guests with the photo booth as well! My husband and I, and my bonus kids, are big photobooth fans - we seek them out whenever we can, so incorporating the photobooth and providing photostrips to guests as part of our favors was just perfect. Shawn and his lovely wife Carolyn went above and beyond for us so many times, we simply don't know how to express our appreciation with enough words. They are truly wonderful people who care deeply for their clients and their success and happiness, and it SHOWS! We have continued to tell them that we want to do it all over again, because they were instrumental in making our day PERFECT and having a heck of a lot of fun in the process!

We believe everyone should get in on the fun! Our photo booths print two copies of each photo strip by default—one for your guests to keep and one for your scrapbook (if included). If guests want extra copies, we’re happy to print them for free on the spot. And with instant digital sharing, they can also download and share their photos right away!
