Golden Bell offers a unique musical blend that packs a high-energy punch! The DJ/live fusion band, or DJ/live band hybrid, is always anchored on a DJ set but supported by live musicians. With all the energy and hype of a live band and the flexibility of a DJ, you won’t have to decide between hiring a band or a DJ for your next event or wedding.

We offer you the best of both worlds: the energy of a live band, the freedom and flexibility of a DJ. We pride ourselves on our team of world class musicians, and we guarantee a dance party your guests will brag about for years. ***Our pricing varies depending on the event scope, location and the number of musicians included, so they may vary a bit from our rough estimates. If you want the most lively, fun wedding that perfectly blends the energy of the live music actually hearing the original songs you like from a DJ, YOU MUST BOOK GOLDEN BELL! Every single guest said this was the best wedding music experience they have EVER had. The energy, the talent, the enthusiasm was ELECTRIC. I have never seen such a packed dance floor all night. My husband and I said after that we would literally pay to see them live in a concert in the future.

We're still reliving our wedding dance party and wishing we could do it all over again to keep dancing. Brendan and Marlon were our team and I feel like we struck gold. We loved Brendan's energy in our pre-wedding call with him, and felt instantly like we were in great hands and that he really understood what we wanted (mix of contemporary pop, 2000s/2010s hits, and 70s/80s dance bops). On the wedding day itself, they both were super professional and on top of everything for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner, and we could hear the music getting dancy towards the end of dinner. Once the dance floor started, the choice to segue from our funky first dance song into Dancing Queen was 10/10 (we love ABBA) and the night went perfectly from there. We had 125 guests of all ages and most of them were on the dance floor the entire 2 hours, including us (my mom did NOT leave the dance floor and had such an amazing time). I lost my voice for 3 days afterwards because I was singing so much. Our friends and families kept complimenting them in the days after and saying how much fun they had on the dance floor (going as far as to say best wedding dance floor ever). We're biased, but we agree it was the best dance floor ever, and best decision ever to hire Golden Bell :)

Golden Bell was INCREDIBLE. We can't thank the team enough for their support in making our wedding dreams come true. Paul was fantastic as our MC – he was organized, enthusiastic, and a skilled DJ/musician. Particularly in the handling of specific interests and our taste in music, Paul was attentive and diligent in preparing and following through. And Nico was also an all-star handling the logistics of our ceremony. The ceremony audio was flawless, the recessional parade was iconic; their handling of all of our special requests was masterful, and most importantly the dance floor was electric!!! We have many friends that are reflecting on our dance party as the best ever. We can't recommend Golden Bell enough, from beginning to end. One of the best decisions we've made.

Yes, we’re comfortable MCing and making announcements as needed. By design, our MC style is minimal and not performative – you won’t see us jumping on the microphone to crack jokes or hype up the crowd during the dance party. Instead of yelling at folks to jump up and down, we prefer to inject energy into the performance with our instruments.

We currently have crews in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles and Denver. Additionally, we’re happy to travel and perform at destination events if our travel time and flights/accommodation are covered. We’ve traveled to NYC, the Pacific Northwest Area, Hawaii, Mexico and even Thailand for events, so let us know if you’re interested in booking us outside our home areas.

We love that you’re interested in bringing live music into your event, but we no longer staff our musicians with outside DJs. We’ve learned the hard way that staffing a great horn player with even a great outside DJ leads to mixed experiences. All of the DJs in our crew are also musicians, and have a deep understanding of how the interplay between horns and the DJ sets work together. This is something that can take years to a lifetime to master.

These performances are always anchored on a DJ set that keeps the party going from start to finish and offers us all the flexibility that comes with DJing. We’re able to play any music you can dream up, vs. being stuck to a particular repertoire of songs. The live horns, drums and guitar are additive to the DJ set, play in parallel, and breathe life into the music in a way that only live music can. Horns and guitar will layer on top of the tracks and be featured for high-energy solo moments, and drums act like the glue between the tracks and live music.

All our wedding packages come with at least one sound system setup with more available for an additional fee, and we’re able to provide wireless microphones for the ceremonies, speeches and toasts, etc. Background music playlists are also provided for non-performance times (cocktail hours, dinners, etc.) For other private event and corporate event packages, sound systems can also be provided for an additional fee if required.

Golden Bell is set up as a collective of full-time, touring musicians who tour the world and play on some of the biggest stages, from Coachella and Red Rocks Amphitheater to Bonnaroo and so many more. When you book us you’re booking the collective, and not any individual artists. We’re NOT a booking agency that will farm out inquiries to musicians we don’t know, and those in our crew are family – we practice routines together, share a music library and work hard to ensure the experience is consistently amazing between each of our events, regardless of who is assigned.

We pride ourselves on our flexibility to incorporate any genre of music. When left to our own devices, we’d tend to play a healthy mix of funk, soul, R&B and disco remixes, but every one of our events is crafted around our clients’ preferences and desires. As part of our process, we’ll send our clients a music questionnaire to submit a playlist they’ve put together for us to review. The questionnaire also includes a section for “must plays” and “do-not-plays”, which we pay close attention to. Once we’ve gathered all these, we spend a great deal of time incorporating the new music alongside our own to put together a live set!
