Motor City HDJ started in 1999 as a way to pay for college. The more of my friends' weddings I attended, the more I realized how many bad DJs are out there in the world. I decided at that point I was going to be the "anti-DJ," committing myself to do the opposite of the things that bad DJs do.

No sequin vest or bow tie. No inflatable props. No forgetting people's names or playing the wrong songs for special moments. Mobile DJs are a dime a dozen these days. And when you hire "the other guy" you'll most likely see something different every time they play. Watch me work and you'll very quickly see that I give every Motor City HDJ event gets the same level of trust, respect, value, and excellence.

    Brett is such an amazing DJ and we can't recommend him enough! We had Brett for all our music needs for our wedding (ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception).He was a pleasure to work with from the very first meeting we had with him. His planning tools made it so easy to organize and communicate our wants/needs for our day. He had everything handled from setup to timing and we didn’t have to worry about anything. The dance floor was busy from song 1 till the end of the night! He was checking in with my husband and I throughout the evening in case there were any last minute songs we wanted to hear or any requests we hadn’t heard yet. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about his energy and how amazing he was! The dance floor is one of my favorite parts of a wedding and I am so grateful we had Brett as our DJ to help make our dance floor so amazing for our day!

    Whew it's tough to put in to words just how incredible it is working with Brett. He is hands down my top referral for couples when looking for a DJ. He puts the couples NUMBER ONE, he ensures the music + vibe are what the couple want, & above all he loves this job. Brett is one to do 1000%, hop on the dance floor for a line dance, throw together new ideas + keeps the evening on schedule. From a photographer stand point, he LOVES working on the team. As long as you communicate the day + work as a team member he ensures you're not missing a thing if you run for a meal or water break. I am a massive Brett fan from all aspects!
