When my friends started to get married, the requests to DJ their weddings began pouring in. It made sense, they wanted to party, and I had helped them do it weekend after weekend all over NYC. It only took one wedding for me to realize that they needed a lot more help than what I did in the clubs. These days, I and my team help plan & entertain at all types of events (not just weddings), clients become friends (they don’t start there) and they benefit from our staff’s collective experience and the 10 years in the event industry Stem Productions has been active.

I’m also proud to say that we have the capacity to provide a LOT more services to our clients at a quality level that is elevated at each and every event we work. Stem Productions emerged organically from my love of music and wanting to help my friends enjoy each and every moment of one of the most important days of their lives. Things look a little different today, but my approach always remains the same: Deliver one of the best days of my clients’ lives as if they are part of my inner circle of friends. And, of course, music still takes priority.

Stem Productions was everything we were hoping for. Steve met with us multiple times to prepare for our big day, and he was extremely communicative throughout the wedding to make sure everything was going the way we wanted it to. His hosting was fabulous, to the point where our guests were asking about him for their weddings. The DJ did a great job of sticking to our playlist and changing things up to fit the atmosphere. We were happy with the photobooth as well because they were very proactive in getting photos of all our guests even amongst all the chaos. Stem was recommended to us by a friend, and I would do the same any day.

Steve and his team were amazing! Steve is incredibly organized, responsive, and made the entire planning process so easy and stress-free. The platform he uses is super intuitive and well-organized. Honestly, the hardest part was just choosing our songs! Thanks to his system, even that felt effortless. On the wedding day, our DJ was fantastic. He played every song we requested and kept the dance floor alive all night. The photobooth was a huge hit with our guests; I don’t think it was empty for a single moment! The attendant was friendly and helpful, making sure everyone had a great time. We couldn’t be happier with the experience and highly recommend Steve and his team!

After a year of planning, you're so inundated with to-dos, spreadsheets, budgets, designs. You never really get a "feel" of a wedding. But Steve and his company sets the tone the moment you walk into the room. Steve is warm, always making sure the couple is okay and everything's according to schedule. He's fun and engaging, always keeping folks on their feet and dancing. The DJ understood the music vibe we were looking for, the dance floor was on fire. And above all else, the team made you feel like everything was under control so that the wedding couple could do what the night was meant for' to love on each other and to spend their mental energy, time, and laughs with their closest loved ones. I can't recommend Stem Productions more. AND GET THE PHOTO BOOTH.

The moment we had our initial inquiry call with Steve, we knew we had to book him and we are so glad we did!! He is so professional, genuine and passionate about his work, and we could tell he cares about his clients from the amount of effort he put into the multiple video calls with us and reminder emails he sent to keep us on track. On the actual wedding day, Steve was a fantastic MC and kept everything flowing smoothly and on time! We loved working with Steve and would definitely recommend him and his team to anyone!!

Our home base is in Bergen County, NJ, but we regularly travel to Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island, Westchester, Central and South New Jersey. We've even worked events out in Los Angeles.

Short answer, yes. For a celebration like a wedding, we always work as at least a two-person team - one DJ and one MC. This allows our staff to stay focused on their specific tasks.

Absolutely we accept requests, but will only play them if they make sense in elevating the atmosphere. That latest Adele song? It gives us the feels too, but we don’t recommend playing heartbreak songs while celebrating love. It’s all about context.

The more we know about your (and your guests’) musical taste, the more we can dial into just what type of crowd and party to expect. That said, we are dance floor specialists, so we read the crowd, the atmosphere, and make judgment calls in the moment.

Not to be cliche, but we play it all. All of our DJ's are open-format specialists, meaning they play whatever the dance floor or situation calls for. Old-school-Hip-Hop? We got that. EDM? Untz. K-pop? As-ssa!

Absolutely. Once we're locked in for a job, we can send our Certificate of Insurance (COI) directly to your point of contact at the venue upon request.

It all depends on what your event requires, but all of our equipment is manufactured for professionals, well-maintained, and carefully set up to enhance the look of your event.

We always wear occasion-specific attire.

Typically we arrive at the venue 1.5-2 hours before the event to load-in, set up all the equipment, change into our evening wear, and give ourselves a few moments to center ourselves before the show begins.

Each event is unique and presents its own variables. We’re a little old school and like to get on the phone to find out as much as possible about the event and see if we’re the right fit. If we end up working together, all we would need is a signed agreement and deposit to lock the date in.

We ask that the full balance be paid by the day of your event.

We actually prefer it. Planning an event requires a short-term working relationship between us and our clients. We want to get to know you better, have casual conversations, and let ideas and inspiration percolate organically. What’s the best way for this to happen? While meeting in person.
