The Premier Chicago Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist Team for Refined and Approachable Wedding Day Beauty. Beauty by Ann Krause is a wedding hair and makeup team based in Chicago, IL. Our artists will help you to narrow down your inspiration photos and create the Bridal look you have always dreamed of. Ann prides herself in taking away the stress of wedding morning preparations with beauty services brought to your location and following a timeline customized to meet your needs. Please note that there is a six person hair and makeup minimum (or equal service dollar amount) requirement per booking on Friday- Sunday in April through December.

The trial run session is a great test for this. We will discuss your unique skin type, hair texture, and plans for your Chicago wedding day (how long you will be outdoors, possible weather on your date, etc.) and factor this into our choices of products and techniques designed to give you the best longevity. Then we follow up after your trial run to see how you felt about your hair and makeup look at the end of the night. This allows us to make notes of anything we might need to adjust on the wedding day.

We can help you determine this prior to your trial run session. We can make a recommendation based upon your desired end result and your current hair length, texture, and fullness. This can be covered via email.

Yes! In fact, we like to build a connection with our brides and take notes that allow us to make your hair and makeup look even better on your wedding day than it did at your trial run session!

We plan our timelines so each party member has a little space between their hair and makeup appointments. Then if one person takes a little longer it doesn’t set off a chain reaction of all artists running behind. Additionally, it’s key for party members to review the instructions on your beauty timeline to prepare for their appointments and also be present and ready to start at the time of their appointments.

Yes! Our team can work with groups of up to 21 people.

Your start time is calculated based upon the services your party is receiving and the time you need to be finished. We share the tentative time frame when you book so this topic can be addressed in advance if there’s any concerns. Based upon your party size, you may have the option to reserve additional artists for an added fee and shorten the overall time frame.

Unfortunately, we can’t shorten the length of hair and makeup appointments (or the overall time frame). We need to be able to provide everyone with the level of service and attention to detail that you have booked us for so we can’t cut corners.

Absolutely! Our specialty is enhancing natural beauty and making sure that you still look and feel like yourself on your wedding day.

You will have the opportunity to give feedback so we can make adjustments during your trial run session to land on a look you love. However, sometimes, it can take seeing a look fully executed on yourself and wearing it several hours to decide that it’s simply not your style. In this case we are happy to schedule a second hair and/or makeup trial for you. Regular rates will apply for this session.

I had the best time with Ann for my wedding. She was so great with my bridal party and a perfect, calming presence throughout the day. Plus, she knows exactly what she's doing and could work with both straight and curly hair. Brittany, our make up artist, definitely got my vision of feeling elevated but still natural and like myself. I totally recommend her and her team for your wedding day. Go ahead and book!

Beauty By Ann Krause was an absolute dream to work with for my wedding day. Ann and her team are incredibly thorough, thoughtful, precise, and flexible in their approach. The quality of their work is truly exceptional - they delivered stunning, high-quality, and perfection-level hair and makeup for me and my diverse bridal party. Ann and her team made everyone look and feel fabulous, including my sister who has ultra-curly hair! In fact, my mom had bruised her lip just a couple days before the wedding, but you'd never know it after her makeup was completed - she looked years younger! I really appreciate how dedicated Ann is to her craft and making her clients feel taken care of. Ann's Instagram is also a treasure trove of helpful tips and advice for brides, answering lots of questions I had leading up to the big day. I couldn't recommend Beauty By Ann Krause highly enough!

Beauty By Ann Krause was an absolute pleasure to work with for my wedding day. From the moment I first reached out, their communication was prompt, friendly, and accommodating. They were incredibly organized and helped ease my nerves on the big day. The glam team (Ann and Laura) did an amazing job - my hair and makeup were perfect and I felt so beautiful and confident walking down the aisle. Their attention to detail and professionalism were top-notch, and the quality of their work was well worth the price. They also were excellent at upholding our notes from the trial run, and made sure I was in love with the glam. They also did my mom and sister's hair and makeup, and they were both extremely pleased with their experience. We looked good! Beauty by Ann Krause was a pleasure to work. For the trial, they came to my apartment, were very friendly and communicative. Their communication was prompt, clear, and detailed throughout the entire process. Laura, my makeup artist, was so friendly, she even recommended the pet attending service we used for our dog - that personal touch was so appreciated! She addressed all my concerns and put together a touch-up kit that I ended up not needing. Erica, my hairstylist was great, she even made adjustments after our trial to allow for movement and softness while still holding the curl. The quality of their work was long-lasting, beautiful and completely customized to my vision. I'm thrilled with how everything turned out and would highly recommend. My whole bridal party used Beauty by Ann Krause and everyone had only great things to say.
