I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about Kate at Jasmine & Co. I was feeling a little overwhelmed going into my wedding day especially since I wasn’t 100% sure what I wanted for my hair. But Kate was so calming and professional and I think one of the favorite parts of the day was getting my hair and makeup done! She nailed the makeup look I had in mind, I showed her a few inspiration photos and somehow she brought it all together in a way that looked even better than I imagined and the makeup held up perfectly all day. What impressed me even more was how she styled my shoulder-length hair. I didn’t have a solid reference photo to work from, but Kate worked her magic and created the most beautiful soft, romantic style that felt so me. I got so many compliments and I have been even trying to replicate what she did so I could have something like my 'wedding hair' at other events. She also did makeup for a few of my family members, and they all loved their looks too. Everyone looked polished and radiant, but still totally like themselves. I was really overwhelmed with the options for hair and makeup but I'm so so so glad I went with Jasmine's company.

Having Alicia as my hair and makeup artist for my wedding day was the perfect choice, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Alicia is truly amazing at her craft. She did my hair for my engagement shoot, and I was blown away by how beautiful it looked. She also did my makeup for my bridal shower, and I received so many compliments from friends and family. I knew that having her do BOTH my hair and makeup on my wedding day was going to result in something absolutely stunning, and she did not disappoint. Alicia is not only incredibly talented, but she's also a joy to work with. She is professional, yet chill and easy to talk to. She really understands the vibe you're going for, and nothing feels forced. Alicia makes it a priority to ask about your preferences—what you do and don’t like—so she can make all the right adjustments after hair and makeup trials. By the time the wedding day came, I had complete confidence that she would give me exactly what I envisioned. And when she handed me the mirror after completing my hair and makeup, I CRIED. She absolutely nailed it. The look she created was beautiful, dreamy, sexy, chic, and timeless all at once—it was exactly what I wanted. Our wedding guests couldn’t stop gushing over how beautiful I looked, and I felt like a true version of myself, only more polished and radiant than ever before. Alicia delivered more than just a look; she made me feel incredibly confident and stunning on my special day. A huge shoutout as well to makeup artists Maila and Kate, who helped with hair and makeup for my bridal party. Everyone looked absolutely gorgeous, and they were all so happy with how their hair and makeup turned out. Maila and Kate were both so sweet and accommodating, ensuring that each lady loved their final look. The entire team made the experience feel effortless and fun, and our bridal party was truly glowing. If you’re looking for a hair and makeup artist who is not talented but also easy to work with and truly listens to your vision, Alicia is your person. She made my wedding day even more unforgettable, and I’m so grateful for her expertise and professionalism.

  • Great look but a bit confused

I want to preface this review by saying that the ladies I worked with were so lovely and none of this is meant to reflect badly on any of them. My review is solely to reflect the kind of confusion I had throughout the process of booking and paying for services. It wasn’t made totally clear that the company has a number of HMUAs working under them so when I booked based on the photos I saw on zola/ the knot it became clear that whoever was my artist, their work I may not have seen. I had an artist and then I got assigned a different artist as the first one was “no longer available”, so I kind of went to my trial blind to the portfolio of my artist, thankfully she was really talented but it still gave me pause in the beginning. The next really confusing bit was pricing. I chatted with the owner about what I wanted and my bridal party and she drew up a contract that included everything (including the hair trial) and I paid a deposit which was a percentage of the cost. On the pricing sheet provided to me prior to signing the contract it said makeup trial was included in the price of makeup, and hair trial and day of hair was a flat price of 170 plus more “depending on style and length of hair”. This sounded reasonable, obviously a simple half ponytail wouldn't be the same cost as say an elaborate updo or something, but it became clear quickly it was going to end up costing a lot more. I let the owner and my artist know the day of my trial was my bridal shower, they assured me it was plenty of time, and despite that my appointment time got pushed back and I ended up an hour and a half late to my own bridal shower. On top of that because it was running so behind once she was done I wasn’t able to make changes to see what I actually wanted which is the point of trials. Afterwards, the owner let me know I needed to send money for the trial which was considerably more than I thought (charged me 10 for a strand of hair to be twisted and additional stuff like that), and I was confused because I already paid the deposit on the contract which had the trial on there and said the final payment would be due closer to the wedding. I ended up just paying, but even so, the trial wasn’t taken off the contract and said I still owed the remaining amount. She did end up taking 20 off the trail price since I missed like half of my own bridal shower. Another confusing thing was the travel costs. We decided on two artists to come to my house. The owner priced the fees as though artists were traveling to and from from the sac region to Vacaville and multiplied by two for the two artists resulting in over 200. I was confused though because when I went to my artist's home for the trial, she was in Davis which was only about 17 miles away, not 50 miles. When I brought this up, as my bill had become way more than I had expected, she said she charges a flat mileage for where the company is based out of for all artists, even though the artist only had to travel from Davis. All in all, I was pretty stressed the entire time worried more hidden costs would pop up for me and my bridal party. My hair and makeup did look great but it was so much more expensive than I had anticipated and when I tried to get clarification on stuff it felt like I was being a nuisance. My advice would be to identify ahead of time what exactly you’re wanting and inquiring about the price for that exact look, as well as researching which artist you’ll be getting.
