Beautiful Shots, Disorganized Experience
Chelsea delivered a stunning gallery. The ceremony photos in particular are absolutely beautiful. It truly looks like we had a second shooter with how many angles and moments were captured. We’re so happy with those photos and grateful for the artistry she brought to them. That said, we felt that Chelsea still has room to grow in terms of managing a wedding day. We went in trusting that she would take charge when needed, but that just didn’t happen. She repeatedly asked us if there were any other shots we wanted, which put a lot of pressure on us in the moment especially since we didn’t have visibility into what had or hadn’t been taken. We provided a shot list ahead of time, but we didn’t feel like it was used proactively to guide the day. The beginning of the day felt disjointed, with no one clearly instructing us or the wedding party on what to do, which led to a lot of standing around instead of efficiently capturing portraits or moments. That downtime contributed to my stress and took away from the excitement. After the ceremony, our timeline went off track. Instead of moving straight into couple portraits like we’d planned and communicated to guests, Chelsea started asking if certain people were around for family and wedding party shots, even though we had already told everyone they could head inside to cocktail hour, and our maid of honor would later gather them. Because of this change, we lost valuable time and missed photos with any extended family members who traveled a long way to be there. We didn’t even end up with a photo of both our sets of parents with us together. There were also moments where a little more direction would have made a big difference — like group shots where everyone wasn’t centered, resulting in photos that felt visually off. During the reception, we didn’t get many candid or group shots either. We assumed we’d have more coverage while we made rounds greeting guests, but unless we asked for a photo, it didn’t happen. Later in the evening, Chelsea asked if we still wanted the family photos from earlier, but it was dark by that point, and we wanted our guests to enjoy the party. Unfortunately the opportunity for family photos was missed by that point because we hadn’t stuck to the schedule earlier in the day. We received beautiful photos, but the lack of leadership and deviation from the schedule had a real impact on our experience and the memories we now have documented. I wish we had been able to stick to the plan, not just for the photos, but so we could’ve had a calm, meaningful moment together after the ceremony before jumping back into hosting and organizing. We received beautiful images and Chelsea clearly has talent but needs a firmer grasp on schedule management and independently directing photos.

We hired Chelsea to photograph our wedding, and I wouldn’t have had it any other way! Chelsea’s package offered an engagement shoot, which was super successful! It was amazing to get to know Chelsea before our big day and see how well we meshed together. On the Wedding day, she and her second shooter arrived punctually and ran on time with everything! Chelsea was able to help keep us on schedule and still get all of the photos and combinations that we wanted. She was so personable and fun to work with! She even braved the 20 degree weather, with snow and wind to help make my photography dreams come true! The Polaroid photos we received on the night of the wedding were super cute and such a great touch! I cannot wait to see her work when the gallery comes in
