I love getting to know my couples, their families, and their chosen families. I photograph all kinds of love, but I’m especially proud to serve the LGBTQIA+ community. As a lesbian and someone who’s been through the wedding planning process with my amazing wife, I know how powerful representation is — and how much it matters.     Michelle Gunn exceeded ALL our expectations! Her response times were lightning fast in all our communication. She even texted to let us know she was headed our way and asked if she could bring us anything from town (since we were in a remote part of a national park). So thoughtful! My husband and I were very nervous about the shoot, but she put us right at ease. Not everyone feels comfortable having their photos taken... if you feel that way, then this is the photographer for you! She never made us feel rushed, she had a calm presence yet fun personality. Her instructions on how to pose were super clear and she was so positive and encouraging that it made us want to keep having more pictures taken instead of running away into the woods, haha. While I can only speak to a couples session, I have no doubt she would be an amazing photographer for any event including weddings. This is truly her calling and she is an artist in every sense of the word. Hire her today!

    We decided very last minute (about a month in advance) to have a small backyard wedding ceremony prior to our planned wedding, in a different state than where we live. Michelle 100% saved the day. We weren't sure we even wanted to hire a photographer, and we are so glad we did! From the start, Michelle was quick to follow up and made communicating easy to follow and keep up with. She made time for us to have a short notice consult, and was so flexible and understanding with letting us book less than a month before our date. She took the time to get to know us and expressed so much empathy and care. On the day of our wedding, Michelle was prompt, easy to work with, clear with ideas and instructions, and just helped our day run more smoothly overall (thank you for hoisting away my parents' chaotic puppy). She was flexible when our schedule got off track. She brought us sparklers for some cool "send off" photos and gave us cute polaroids right before she left for the night. And we had our sneak peek less than 24 hours later! We absolutely loved having Michelle there; we can't say enough about what a wonderful person she is and how much we loved getting to know her and having her around. She was warm and kind not only with us, but with everyone present. If you are an LGBTQ couple and at all on the fence about hiring an LGBTQ photographer, let me tell you, it is 100% worth it, and we have no doubt that Michelle is one of the best. The feeling of working with someone who gets you, who relates to your experience, and who will make everyone around them feel at ease is priceless. ALSO, the photos are everything we could have dreamed of and more! We chose Michelle not just because of her identity and location, but also because her work is lovely and warm and bright. The vibe of the images on her website and her feed is exactly what we wanted and what we got.

    Michelle was an absolute delight to work with for our engagement shoot. From our very first interaction, her communication style was effective, kind, and joyful, making the whole process feel effortless. She was so sweet and happy, it was truly contagious and it shines through in her work. We were so comfortable the entire time, even though beforehand I was not happy with my makeup. Once we started shooting, it didn’t even cross my mind. Without even seeing the photos, I was just so excited and knew they were going to be stunning. The quality of her work is truly dreamy and creative - she even brought our vision of having the feel of an early morning in New York City to life, even though we were in Fresno, CA. Her ability to work with us to capture our perfect date idea was impressive, and the resulting photos are breathtaking. We couldn't be happier with the work and passion Michelle showed us during our shoot!

    My wife and I had such an amazing time working with Michelle. Her friendly personality immediately put us at ease and made us feel so safe and seen. Michelle was amazing at helping my wife and I pose ourselves naturally, and getting us to connect in front of the camera with sweet little questions to each other like "What do you love about your partner? Go ahead and tell her." Michelle was also so consent oriented and intentional about asking if she could help pose us and what made us feel comfortable, asking our pronouns, referring to us by name, and overall just creating such a wonderful environment. Not to mention that her skill behind the camera speaks for itself! Michelles mix of film and digital photography, her people skills, and her ability to capture such real and tender moments makes her an invaluable wedding, engagement, and romance photographer and I could not recommend her more highly.
