My name is Sarah James Middleton, and I am a Wedding and Boudoir Photographer located in the DMV area. I am obsessed with capturing love. I strive to find the little moments and capture them so you can hold onto them forever. Love and a little magic go a long way to making your day better than you imagined. I'm here to document the real, the raw, and the romantic. Let's make something magical together.

A graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art, I have spent the past few years working in both freelance and editorial production in NY and D.C and have shot over 100 weddings in over 25 states! One thing that sets me apart from other photographers is that I’ve worked for years directing models- this comes in handy with making sure we get the best shots and most flattering angles and also with making you the most comfortable you can be on your big day!

    Sarah James Photography was an absolute dream to work with for our elopement! From the very first interaction, Sarah was incredibly communicative, fun, and bubbly - it was clear she truly cared about making our day special. On the day of, she was a pro at posing us and finding the most stunning backdrops, capturing the memories of our elopement in a way that is truly breathtaking. Sarah seamlessly switched between digital and film photography, and the final photos are exactly what we had imagined - a beautiful blend of classic and modern styles. She made the entire photoshoot process go with such ease, and was so adaptable as our plans shifted.     Sarah James was an absolute delight to work with for our wedding photography.     Sarah was amazing to work with! We first did our engagement photos with her and knew she was the right photographer for us. My husband is not super comfortable in front of the camera, but Sarah and Jack (her partner/second shooter) helped put him at ease for our photos! I love her photography style and editing, and I feel like her team truly captured the beauty and love we felt on our wedding day. Sarah was very easy to communicate and work with and I feel like she listened to my vision and knew the key shots I wanted for the day. She also was incredible with time management, ensuring we got all of the shots we needed so we didn't have to miss much of our cocktail hour or any of our reception! Her turnaround time was also super quick, as we had all of our photos back in about 6 weeks (we also got married in September, a high volume time for her!). Can't recommend Sarah enough, we will continue to use her in the future for milestone photos!
