Marissa is the most unethical and unorganized businessperson I’ve ever worked with. After causing more harm than help when arranging our timeline, we were not particularly thrilled with her services to begin with. She missed emails and seemed to not understand how the DJ and caterers operated. However, we hired her for day of coordination and figured her help with setup and flow would be worth the hassle and money. On the day of the wedding at 6am she informs me that her flight was delayed (the day before). And then she says she might not make it. I am understanding but ask for details. She tells me a sub will come if she can’t come. I ask for details on her status and her sub an hour later and she says she is sending over more info. Then she never does. No one ever comes. My mom and an amazing friend take over all her duties to the best of their abilities. I have barely any pictures with my mom at my wedding because she had to do all the things Marissa was going to do. As you can see in the screenshots, she refunded us, but that doesn’t make up for the nausea I had all day and the ways she truly hurt our wedding. DO NOT HIRE. She is either a scam artist or just a horribly unorganized wedding planner.

Marissa was amazing as our day-of coordinator! Like I’m sure several brides feel during the beginning stages of wedding planning, I thought I’d be able to handle all of the coordination and day-of details on my own. I am so grateful I made the decision to hire Marissa! She was so thorough with our timeline, brought up things that I didn’t even think about, and helped run the day seamlessly. Having her as a part of our team allowed me to be fully present and enjoy everything about our wedding day. It was perfect and Marissa was a large part of that!

I am the mother of the bride, and really appreciate the collaborative nature that Marissa has. She was patient with a young bride who had a very, very specific vision for the wedding. Marissa and her assistant were super accommodating, even swinging by our home after the wedding and before the reception to pick up some floral arrangements we had made, which was a godsend. She made my daughter feel comfortable asking her many questions, and spent a good 2 hours with us figuring out every detail of the timeline for the actual wedding day. Thank you Marissa!

Cotten Designs was an exceptional wedding planning team to work with. Their communication style was direct, kind, and highly organized throughout the entire process. The quality of their work and value they provided was truly compassionate, educated, and clear. They ran our wedding day seamlessly, ensuring everything went off without a hitch. Cotten Designs' professionalism and attention to detail made our special day all the more memorable. We are so grateful for their hard work and dedication in making our wedding dreams a reality. Although the teammate Marissa hired for us at first did not end up working out, Marissa herself left us with no doubt that everything would work out and that she would be there for us - and she was and it did!
