About this venue

Aurora, which means dawn in Italian, was established in 2003 by chef Riccardo Buitoni and his two friends. Chef Buitoni grew up making fresh pasta with his mother and working in local restaurants. Inspired by the cuisine of his native home of Piedmont, Italy, Chef Buitoni sought to create an authentic Italian dining experience near where he was living in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. At the time, the neighborhood lacked the presence of a high-quality establishment serving Italian comfort food. In 2003, opening a restaurant in Williamsburg was considered a bold move. The area was devoid of the higher end restaurants that it currently maintains today. One thing remains clear, however – Aurora has been a consistent staple in the neighborhood as it has evolved over the last couple decades. Like when Aurora first opened, every item is made with care, on-premises, from the bread to the pasta to the sausages. The majority of ingredients are sourced locally or from Italy.

The Aurora Buyout offers a cozy, rustic charm perfect for wedding celebrations, rehearsal dinners, or post-wedding brunches. With warm wooden accents, soft lighting, and views of lush greenery through large windows, it creates an inviting atmosphere for sharing heartfelt toasts and elegant meals with loved ones. Aurora is ideal for celebrations of up to 80 - 90 guests, and can host on-site ceremonies, cocktail receptions, sit down dining, and dancing in the main room. On-site ceremonies are held in our beautiful covered garden area followed by a cocktail hour in the main dining room.

Celebrate under the stars in this enchanting outdoor garden space. Surrounded by ivy-covered walls and delicate floral accents, the setting exudes effortless elegance. Soft lighting and long banquet tables make it perfect for dining al fresco in a picturesque, nature-filled backdrop. *Ceremony on-site, dancing, live music, or cocktail receptions are not an option during garden buyouts. On-site ceremonies are held in our beautiful covered garden area followed by a cocktail hour in the main dining room.
