The Magnolia Inn offers an intimate, elegant setting in the heart of historic downtown Clayton. Built in 1895, our lovingly restored property blends timeless charm with modern comforts, creating the perfect backdrop for a wedding weekend that feels both personal and unforgettable. Couples and guests will love our three beautifully appointed parlors, dramatic staircase, wrap-around porch, spacious garden, and seven uniquely designed guest rooms — each with its own character. Whether you envision a cozy gathering or a lively celebration, The Magnolia Inn provides a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes every moment feel special.

Peacock Parlor

Where rich jewel tones meet timeless elegance — the Peacock Parlor is a vibrant, sophisticated space made for unforgettable gatherings.

The Peacock Parlor is a richly appointed space featuring bold jewel tones, elegant décor, and warm natural light. Perfect for intimate celebrations, it comfortably seats up to 24 guests at three round-top tables. For larger gatherings, the room flows seamlessly into the Magnolia Parlor, creating an inviting, connected space for mingling, dining, or special events.

This space features a dimmable crystal chandelier, large ornate vista paintings, an elegant hanging tapestry, direct access to the guest kitchen for seamless catering, and flexible furnishings that can be rearranged or fully removed to suit your event.

Room cost

$550 for 4 hours at the DIY tier; Prices increase based on guest count and package level. This room also comes with a second room, the Magnolia Parlor (300 sqft), where food is often staged.

    Spaces seem to be getting smaller and more clinical. Everything covered in hospital white and agreeable grey. We recently booked our event at the Magnolia Inn right after their exterior face-lift. Our event had the energy of a Great Gatsby gala with the class and charm of Southern Hospitality. The staff was attentive and available for any last minute changes or adjustments and catered to all of our needs. If you end up staying the night as well (like we did) the breakfast spread will have you asking for seconds and a late check out while you sit on the front porch swing while the Sunday sun starts to warm up the quaint little town around you. Our photo session was so much better in a place that you could easily imagine what a regal life would be like in a large Victorian home. My family came along with me and I now have a timeless photo of my two children walking down the grand staircase holding hands that will be the placeholder in my mind for the sweet innocent time of their lives that they are in right now. Repeat sessions already booked, can't recommend this gem enough. Free private parking, fast wifi, walking distance to food, drinks, and fun. A must have for weddings or an elevated event/date night.

    My bridal shower was hosted here and it was so beautiful! The house is incredibly done and the hosts were nothing but kind and accommodating. I can’t recommend the Magnolia Inn enough!
