About this venue
Whether for a grand sunset reception or an intimate gathering, the Historic 1916 Sample-McDougald House offers a beautiful, one-of-a-kind backdrop for weddings and special events. This tropical setting is close proximity to downtown Fort Lauderdale and only 2.5 miles to the beach. The two-story, Georgian-style southern estate is beautifully appointed with a large sweeping front porch with large white columns. Set in a 5-acre park with pine, oak and magnolia trees, lush landscaping and a quaint heritage garden, a wedding at the Sample-McDougald House is exquisite.

Whether for a grand sunset reception or intimate gathering, the Historic 1916 Sample-McDougald House offers a beautiful, one-of-a-kind backdrop.
The Sample-McDougald House weddings take place in an outdoor, garden setting, however; the interior of the home is available for photos. We provide a bridal suite and a groom’s dressing room within the historic home. Introducing the pavilion at Centennial Park! This open-air covered entertainment area offers a modern yet rustic location for weddings, corporate events, and fundraisers. Our courtyards provide a perfect place for an intimate wedding or your first dance. The Front Porch features large white columns with traditional southern charm, combining to create an elegant vintage setting for your ceremony. For our brides & grooms: This Victorian experience adds a hint of romance and elegance for the bride and her bridesmaids as they prepare for the bridal walk. A groom’s dressing room is also available.

Wedding Rental Rates include a 10-hour Timeframe to include the Rehearsal, Set Up, Ceremony, Reception and Breakdown. The fees for weddings and receptions are for the venue only, and we can recommend experienced vendors for your wedding day services. A list of preferred vendors is available.
