Q: Can we bring our own alcohol?

Yes! You may serve your guests wine and beer or hard alcohol. We do require that you hire a professional, certified bartending service.

Q: ARE THERE CHANGING AREAS FOR THE BRIDE, GROOM, AND /OR WEDDING PARTY?

Yes, the original creamery has been renovated and lovingly renamed as the hen house. It serves as a great place to get ready, it has a full bathroom with a shower and a mini fridge. We also have a 1969 Airstream trailer as a "hang out" space. The Airstream is a blast from the past. We set it up with corn hole, wine barrels & bar stools, a vintage cooler plus a mini fridge, blue tooth speaker, and the ocean views are incredible! It is separately located so that our couples can each enjoy privacy while getting ready.

Q: HOW LATE CAN WE PARTY?

In accordance with local noise ordinances, amplified music must stop at 10:00pm and guests are asked to vacate the ranch by 11:00pm.

Q: DO YOU HAVE A DECOR INVENTORY WE CAN BORROW FROM?

We have a fun and eclectic inventory of props that can be incorporated into your wedding decor, some of it left over from the ranch’s dairy farming days.

Q: DO YOU REQUIRE A WEDDING PLANNER?

Yes, we require couples choose one of the wedding planners from our preferred vendor list. We have 7 to choose from. Wedding planners are essential to a relaxed, organized and seamless event. They are worth their weight in gold!

About this venue

Swallow Creek Ranch, a 600 acre cattle ranch is located in the quaint beach town of Cayucos and is the only wedding venue on the central coast of California that offers ocean view ceremony sites and a historic reception barn. At Swallow Creek Ranch we provide the blank canvas for the day of your dreams and allow you to shape your celebration as you see fit. You’ll have access to our venue for the entire weekend which makes for a relaxed affair. You will also have your choice of two ceremony sites; the Hilltop Amphitheatre and the Seaview Meadow, each with their own unique atmosphere. The party continues with cocktail hour in the barnyard beneath our bistro lights followed by a reception for up to 200 guests in our historic blue barn. Elegant or organic, rustic or modern… the scene is set, the ranch is your backdrop. Make your vision come true!

THE SEA VIEW MEADOW

SeaView Meadow is a peaceful space for nature lover's who want to enjoy an ocean view surrounded by majestic Eucalyptus trees and a colorful garden!

This tranquil spot, alongside Swallow Creek, is lined with native Monterey cypress trees as well as majestic eucalyptus, both habitat to the Monarch butterfly. This location has views of the ocean and can be used as a ceremony area or cocktail hour area with the convenience of being adjacent to the reception barn.

The SeaView Meadow comes with rustic wooden bench seating for up to 150 guests plus an additional 50 natural wooden folding chairs.

THE HILLTOP AMPHITHEATRE

Breathtaking sweeping views where the rolling hills of the central coast meet the sea!

Our hilltop amphitheater provides a breathtaking natural backdrop for your ceremony. A ceremony stage and guest seating look out over the ranch and its rolling hills towards the Pacific Ocean and the panoramic coastal terraces of Estero Bluffs State Park. Also a favorite location among our coupes’ photographers for golden hour photos!

The Hilltop Amphitheatre offers breathtaking ocean views for a one of a kind wedding ceremony. Chairs are not provided and must be rented. Professional shuttle transportation is required to access this site.

THE HISTORIC DAIRY BARN

The historic blue barn is an enchanting space for dinner and dancing! The drapery and lighting create add to the elegance of this reception space!

Built in 1863, this enchanting blue barn was the heart of the dairy until the 1940's when ranch production shifted to beef cattle because of a long drought. Milk producing cows need a lot of water! Fully retrofitted, it still retains its historic character. It can accommodate up to 200 guests and features 4,700 square feet of inviting space for your celebration. It includes a dance floor, modern wiring and lighting, three handicap accessible restrooms, a custom wine barrel bar & propane heaters.
