About this venue
Welcome to The Steam Plant, downtown Dayton’s premier wedding venue! The former power generating plant has undergone a three year renovation preserving the historical charm while adding modern amenities for today’s discerning couples. We offer indoor and outdoor options and space for ceremony and reception providing numerous backdrops for photos. The Steam Plant's versatility allows couples to customize the venue and utilize the spaces to best fit their group size and vision for the day. At The Steam Plant couples can enjoy "one stop shop" by utilizing the Bridal Suite and Groom's Lounge for wedding day preparations. Truly luxurious and convenient with ample getting ready spaces, amenities and photo opportunities. We are available by appointment only, please contact us for a tour and to check availability.

The Grand Hall
The Grand Hall is the largest event space at The Steam Plant, and it’s the heart of our venue.
Step into a world of industrial chic elegance at The Grand Hall. Soaring 30-foot ceilings, exposed brick, and original beams create a dramatic backdrop for your special day. This versatile space is equipped with modern amenities, including a commercial video board and a state-of-the-art sound system, ensuring your event is seamless. An impressive 2-story handcrafted bar, a grand piano, and curated accent lighting add to the ambiance. With easy access to The Boiler Room and The Annex for cocktail hour and outdoor patios perfect for a cigar bar or s’mores station, The Grand Hall offers a unique and unforgettable setting for both intimate gatherings and grand celebrations.

The Boiler Room
This unique lower-level space, once the former steam plant boiler room, is now a versatile and fun bonus area
Located on the lower level, this former steam plant boiler room offers a one-of-a-kind setting for your wedding events. It’s an ideal bonus space for everything from a cozy cocktail hour and private dinner to a fun game area or after-dinner dance party. The space features a custom mobile bar, a premium sound system, and flat-screen TVs. Guests will be captivated by the dramatic vaulted ceiling that rises 30 feet to the former smokestack. With dedicated arches for catering and direct access to the Locker Room Suite, the Boiler Room adds a fun and unique element to your special day.

Escape to our charming Courtyard & Patio, a delightful urban oasis for your wedding.
The beautifully landscaped Courtyard is a vibrant green space, abundant with seasonal flowers, quaint benches, and inviting paver patios. String lights and sun sails create a magical atmosphere, perfect for a romantic ceremony or a lively cocktail hour. Adjacent to the built-in bar, the Patio is a popular spot for guests to take a break from the dance floor or gather around a cigar and bourbon bar or s'mores station. Both spaces provide stunning backdrops for wedding photos and unforgettable grand exits.

Professional and Caring!
We always enjoy being at The Steamplant! Their staff is always going above and beyond to insure your event is the way you intended. Having been to their location so many times, has given us the opportunity to do many different types of events, and the staff has always been knowledgable, accommodating and friendly!
Best Venue in Dayton Ohio
The Steam Plant is a unique venue that blends an urban setting with high class amenities. There is nothing like it in Dayton. The high ceilings and exposed brick are a favorite of our clients as well as the award winning built-in bar...it is stunning. Lisa is so great to work with and does a nice job of sharing what works and doesn't work in this venue. She truly is an event expert!
Gorgeous urban venue with a glamourous twist
The Steam Plant is a gorgeous venue in downtown Dayton that has so much flexibility and so many options for the client. There's the Grand Gallery with huge windows and lots of natural light, the outside space which is perfect for ceremonies or cocktail hour, the cigar patio, the downstairs wine cellar / boiler room and more. The bride can get ready on site in the bridal suite and there's a stag room for the groom and his tribe. Inside and outside provides unique photo opportunities for the wedding couple. The space is perfect for not only weddings but also birthdays, retirement parties, company holiday parties, fundraisers, and more. You're able to bring in your own alcohol for the stunning built-in oversized bar. The venue owns and includes tables of all sizes and elegant wooden chairs. they also own separate chairs for outside to accommodate the ceremonies or cocktail hour. Lisa is a joy to work with. This is definitely a venue to consider for your upcoming celebration or event.
