When should we send out our summer wedding invitations?
The typical time to mail wedding invitations is six to eight weeks before the big day. This gives guests enough notice to RSVP, make arrangements and purchase wedding registry gifts. However, there are a few exceptions to this rule. If you sent out save the dates, typically mailed seven to nine months in advance of the wedding, you have flexibility to send invitations later. If you are having a destination wedding, on the other hand, it is better to send your wedding invites well in advance, 12 weeks before the wedding day, to give guests more time to prepare.
For a local summer wedding in July, for example, send out your invitations in May. For a destination wedding in July, send your invitations in April.
