With over 650 acres of open fields there are 2 different venues on the property for weddings. In 2012, the Shepherds hosted a wedding on the family farm. All the guests talked about was how beautiful the farm was and how they should be doing weddings full time. The Shepherd family converted the tobacco-cattle barn into a reception barn with all the amenities; bathrooms, kitchen, and electricity. The Shepherd family painstakingly rehabbed and recycled all of the materials in both barns to enhance and preserve the authenticity of the buildings. We felt like we got so much more than our money's worth, as the beautiful grounds made for stunning photos. Being able to stay on the property made things run so smoothly. I would recommend a day of coordinator if you could afford it, as we did not. We paid for the ultimate package and the venue coordinator set us up for the weekend upon arrival on that Friday; it would have very helpful to have someone managing our vision on the day of.
