With the setup we chose, the room felt full but not crowded and allowed for ample room for people to move around. The fireplace added a nice atmosphere without making the room hot. The bathrooms and space were clean when we arrived. The Grange offers several table options which made it super easy for us to setup a kids zone, silent trivia area, and guest tables. Given that tables and chairs are included in the rental fee, it is fairly priced. \n\nA FEW BUMMERS\nWhile we wanted to have the garage doors open for an open-air feeling, it seemed that even the smallest bit of wind would knock over all of our decorations. Because we couldn't have the garage doors open, we did confine everything to indoors which changed our plans a bit with outdoor yard games as it wasn't super intuitive to go outside to the covered patio. We also would have liked to have been asked about the signage The Grange put outside. We had a co-ed baby shower but when we pulled up, the sign only listed the mother-to-be's name. Not a huge deal, but definitely could have been avoided. \n\nIMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS\nA few things to note that may be important to you:\n1. All setup, teardown, and cleaning is YOUR responsibility. So, if you don't want to haul tables and chairs, take out the trash, and mop the floor, this venue is not for you. (Note: We were made well aware of this prior to booking so it isn't a surprise but definitely a big consideration as it cuts into your rental time.)\n2. The microphone works well for the main room but is very difficult to hear in the \"back area\" where the restrooms and food counters are. \n3. When working on your budget, be sure to factor in the cost of getting event insurance as this is required and is an additional cost. (Again, we were made aware of this in advance so it wasn't a surprise.) \n4. She was able to coordinate the whole day for us from our schedule and this took a massive amount of stress away from us - especially doing a destination wedding! The venue is incredibly beautiful. Having the wedding party stay in the cottages was so fun and made this more of an experience than just one day that flew by. The cottages were so clean and comfortable as well. It did rain at the time we were supposed to get married but Lori did all she could to still make everything happen in the grove. 30 minutes later - Lori was soaking wet and running all around and she made our dream come true of getting married in the grove. Noah and Serena made our stay and weekend the absolute best. We had been in communication with them for almost 10 months, planning and discussing every detail. They offered photography, shuttle service options, greeted us with a bouquet of flowers, hung twinkle lights over our ceremony area, allowed us to stop at the home for measurements, even stayed for our wedding and helped with tear down and cleaning. When we booked their home we didn’t expect such involvement and love and support they offered. I could not recommend hummingbird hill enough.
