Words almost fail to express how freaking fabulous our time with The Barker House was! We are just over 3 months married (3/27/2025) and family and friends still remark to us on just how fun and gorgeous our wedding was. A ton of that credit goes to the amazing staff at the Barker House. Right from the start of our first tour, we were treated with such kindness and respect from the Barker House team. We were immediately sold on the staff (who took such time and care chatting with us) before we even fell in love with the venue. Davis-Lynn and Lilly were our rockstars! We were lucky enough to have them with us on our wedding day. The first portion of the day I was incredibly nervous, but once I was greeted by Davis-Lynn at the front door all my worries dissipated. I knew I was in the best of hands and suddenly felt ready to have fun. Even during the dinner service, Lilly was so kind as to sew my ripped bustle behind the scenes. She was so dedicated to making sure we had the best experience. The venue is simply stunning. As two people who appreciate history and go antiquing regularly, The Barker House spoke to our personalities. The speak-easy feel of the sunken bar, fireplaces, and exposed beams are very unique. The venue is in a gorgeous area and we were glad to be by the ocean. The chef is phenomenal as the food service was top notch. Family still exclaim to us how delicious the food was (omg the short ribs perfection!). I also suggest that couples utilize The Barker House's recommended vendors. Not only was payment and interaction with them a breeze, but they were each fabulous in responsiveness and quality. Awesome Blossom, Toast To That Entertainment, and Kristen Griffin Photography were incredibly professional and they each blew us away. I could go on and on... The bottom line, if you looking for a worry free all inclusive beautiful venue and want to work with the best people, look no further than The Barker House! P.S. Brides, make sure you get a picture with your planners! My only regret is that I didn't get a picture with Lilly and Davis-Lynn!

The City Winery team was amazing at doing all the set up. They are pros! From reception tables to ceremony chairs. Their sound system is amazing for a DJ and contributed to the reason that our dance floor was packed for three hours straight. Having a 180 person wedding was great for this venue, as we were able to use the dining area, bar area for cocktail hour, and concert venue for the reception. We knew we didn't want a big traditional (expensive) wedding, and scoured the city for spots that could bring our vision to life. There weren't many options, but Bostonia ended up being the perfect fit. They helped us bring our cocktail style wedding reception to life and were there every step of the way, going above and beyond in the setup so that we didn't need any event planner to help. Rob was awesome and responsive, and helped us select the perfect menu, never upselling or trying to get us to do more. I can't reccomend Bostonia Public House enough!

There was a chance of rain on our wedding day and the night before, she even organized getting us an umbrella that would look nice in photos and had it ready for us in our room. Her attention to detail and thoughtfulness is unmatched! The service at our reception was truly 5 star quality. My husband and I were so impressed with the food and beverage service that we are still talking about it weeks later! Many of our guests shared this with us as well. We had the most magical day of our lives getting married at the Hampshire House in early May this year. Right from the get go, Hampshire House checked all our boxes when it came to what we were looking for in a wedding venue. It has that old New England charm, is located right next to the beautiful Public Gardens and is the perfect size for an intimate, small to medium sized wedding (we had 60-70 guests in attendance). Most of all, the food here is beyond exceptional and some of the best we’ve had. We are major foodies, and having food that was well-plated, generously portioned, and above all delicious and memorable was a high priority item for us. We were lucky enough to be able to work with Sydney Turnbull and the Hampshire house team. Sydney is the most kind, professional, and detail-oriented catering sales manager and event coordinator and thanks to her, all our venue planning with Hampshire House was truly smooth sailing and stress-free. Sydney constantly kept us in the loop with next steps in our planning timeline, offering thoughtful recommendations and suggestions for our wedding (such as floral placements during our ceremony, order and timing of toasts/speeches, seating arrangements, the list goes on!) She kept in contact with all our vendors, always promptly responded to our many emails, walked us through all the steps during our ceremony rehearsal —somehow making it seem much less daunting, and on our big day Sydney seemed to always be one step ahead, preparing and leading us through every portion of our wedding timeline in such a seamless way. Lastly, since our wedding ended late into the evening, Hampshire House thoughtfully held on to and organized all our florals, and various wedding signage and other items so that we were able to return and pick it up at the venue on a following day. This made it so we didn’t have to worry about anything at all night of and could end our wedding day with the peace of mind that everything was taken care of. Truly, we cannot recommend Sydney and the Hampshire House enough and if we were to do it all over again, we wouldn’t change a thing!

The Leslie Lindsey Chapel at Emmanuel Church was the perfect ceremony spot for our winter wedding. We knew we were in amazing hands from the moment we met Robb, the events coordinator. He was extremely friendly, accommodating, and quick to respond to any questions or requests we had. The historic chapel provided a beautiful, cozy, and intimate setting for our special day, and we were thrilled to be able to bring in our own officiant, music, and decor as many traditional churches don't typically allow this! The location was also incredibly convenient, right in the heart of Boston on Newbury Street and steps away from our reception at Rochambeau. We couldn't be happier to have chosen this venue and we highly recommend the chapel to any couple looking for an easy, unforgettable ceremony. 100000/10 experience!

The Banks was the perfect choice for our small wedding. From the very first conversation, the team was kind, responsive, and detail-oriented. They genuinely cared about making our day special - And the food was incredible! (This is the main reason we chose a restaurant as our venue!) We chose the Fireplace Room and it was cozy and perfect for our group. We used the same space for both the ceremony and dinner, and it was great because it made everything so easy for us and our guests. Food wise, they had a great variety and even accommodated several dietary preferences without missing a beat. If you’re looking for a venue that’s intimate, stress-free, and serves amazing food, I can’t recommend The Banks enough. They truly helped make our wedding unforgettable.

Dearly Studio is such a unique and fun place to get married. It was such a stress free and great way to have our wedding ceremony with our family present. We were able to customize our whole experience, including music and adding flowers that were ready to go right at the start of the ceremony. We also booked our photographer, Carlie, through Dearly, and were so happy with how everything turned out. I highly recommend Dearly Studio!

We loved our experience planning/hosting a wedding cereomony and reception at the Armory. The staff were great to work with and the whole event went off without a hitch! The space was beautiful with lighting and decorations. One of the biggest advantages is that the Armory doesn't restrict which caterer you can work with. Many of the other venues we looked at had exclusive contracts with caterers that were many-fold more expensive than the one we ultimately used. Physically, the space we rented is a large performance hall with a stage on one side and a mezzanine on the other. Both are big open hardwood-floor spaces. The space is kind of dark, but looks great with adequate lighting and decorations. The Armory offers some string-lights and up-lights for free, and we also hired a lighting company to add additional lights. We also rented some plants. We had the ceremony on the main floor, then a cocktail hour on the mezzanine during which the catering staff flipped the main floor (we had 140 guests and they all fit comfortably). A live band performed on the stage and the caterer prepped in the backstage area. There is no kitchen so the caterer had to prepare all the food ahead of time offsite. One drawback is that the Armory doesn't allow hard alcohol to be served. Some other pros are that there's a parking lot and a new hotel that opened nearby. Overall, we would highly recommend the Armory, especially if you are willing to mix and match vendors and aren't expecting wrap-around service from a place that does weddings all the time.

They took care of every detail — nothing was overlooked — and their thoughtfulness and professionalism made the entire planning process smooth and stress-free. The execution was flawless — from the timeline to the setup — and we didn’t have to worry about a single thing. The food was phenomenal, beautifully presented, and delicious. The bar team was also fantastic — so accommodating to guests' dietary needs and preferences, and the drinks were a hit! All of the waitstaff during the event were attentive and kind, and the lobby staff went out of their way to help us with everything from parking to moving our things. As the bride, I kept waiting expecting to be stressed out but never once, not even on the day was I anxious or stressed thanks to Katie. We absolutely loved having our wedding at Pagu! From the start, the chef and owner Tracy was incredibly responsive and she got back to us right away when we inquired about hosting our wedding at the restaurant. She shared a detailed event order with sample dishes and estimated charges, which really helped us get the ball rolling with our planning. When we were able to visit Boston (we're based out of state), Tracy personally gave us our initial walkthrough. The combination of the restaurant’s cozy interior and beautiful, spacious outdoor patio made Pagu the perfect venue for our 100-guest celebration. One of the biggest reasons we wanted a restaurant wedding was the food, and Pagu absolutely delivered! Amanda and Chris T. took great care of us during our food and drink tastings, and everything was truly fantastic. The string beans, chicken katsu, miso cod, and wagyu beef were standout dishes. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about them! Tracy’s custom hot honey biscuits were also a huge hit as a late-night snack, and both the double chocolate and strawberry cakes were delicious crowd-pleasers. Like many couples, we barely had time to eat during the whirlwind of the day, but we were so happy that Pagu prepared a to-go bag of all of our food and it was all still incredibly delicious, even the next day! As the big day approached, the team answered all our questions promptly and worked closely with us to rearrange the table layout so everyone could be seated comfortably. We held our rehearsal at the venue the day before, and Amanda was incredibly helpful in coordinating everyone and making sure we all felt confident and prepared for the ceremony. The Pagu team also went above and beyond to accommodate our last-minute requests (including pickleback shots and matcha cookie favors), which was deeply appreciated. Everything went off without a hitch on the actual wedding day. The transitions between ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner were all totally seamless, thanks to the coordination of Amanda, Chris, and Winson; it was clear that they are all seasoned pros at running a wedding, which helped us relax and enjoy the day worry-free! We can’t recommend Pagu highly enough for a wedding or special event! The food, the space, and, most importantly, the people made our day unforgettable and exceeded all expectations. We were incredibly impressed with the whole team throughout the entire process. There were so many thoughtful touches and interactions that happened throughout the planning and on the day itself. If you're considering a restaurant wedding, you won’t regret choosing Pagu!
