Mrs. Arlene is the sweetest and most welcoming vendor I ever spoke with. She ensured that all the details for how we wanted the day to go was discussed. She offered different vendors that we could work with. She worked with my tight budget for my small wedding and made our day more special that I could’ve dreamed of. She was consistent with checking in with me which was greatly appreciated since I was planning my own wedding and was super busy with work and everything else. She was there the day of the wedding helping out in all the ways she could, she even fixed me and my husband’s plates so we can sit down and relax. Her team of photographers are the absolute best and were so sweet. Over all the whole experience was amazing and I can’t recommend her enough. She honestly feels like family and on top of everything the venue is beautiful! It’s an 1800 century that they’ve renovated, but kept all of its charm. If you’re looking for a small venue for a baby shower, wedding, birthday party. This is perfect! I am definitely going back for future events.

We had our wedding on January 21, 2023. We were blessed to have our reception at The Venue at the Star Theater in Toccoa, GA. As a renovated historic theater, The Star offers classic vibes with romantic feels as you dance under the string lights. Areas offered are main floor for seating and dancing, stage area which we used for seating for the bridal party and the DJ, as well as the balcony area for seating. One of my favorite parts was the perfect get away / leaving reception area in the rear of the building. It is set up perfectly for guests to send off the happy couple and makes for absolutely beautiful moments captured by pictures or video. Lastly, I can’t say enough good things about the owner operators, Jim and Christy. They really go with you through the journey of finding the best way to set up all of the aspects for your special day - whether it a wedding, reception, or something special occasion. They not only let you know of what has worked well for other events at the venue but are open to trying new set ups and such (of course within reason - no hanging from the ceilings or anything like that!!) I would recommend 10/10.

Our Reunion-Style Wedding at Hawkesdene I’ve struggled to put this experience into words because so much can’t be fully captured. My husband and I feel incredibly grateful to have celebrated with family and friends at this stunning estate and charming town—truly the most fun experience! Reunion-Style Wedding for 100 Guests (No wedding package, no weekend venue rental, and we were legally married beforehand to enjoy the day stress-free.) Weekday Wedding: Sunday–Tuesday (Monday was a holiday). Full Estate Rental: We covered the entire property, including optional cabins, but skipped the wedding package so we could fully host guests. DIY Ceremony: No designated aisle or seating (just a few chairs for family). It turned out beautifully! No Decor Needed: The venue is breathtaking, so we skipped decorations. Floral Rentals: Used Something Borrowed Blooms—absolutely perfect. Incredible Food: Every meal was amazing (menu below). Cost: Clearly listed on their website—no hidden fees. Tip: Get event insurance when hosting at an estate. Unexpected things can happen, and it’s peace of mind for you and the next couple. We always envisioned a wedding weekend instead of a single day. Since we live far from family, we wanted quality time together. After extensive research (and almost giving up), we found Hawkesdene on VRBO while considering an elopement in the Georgia mountains. It was the only venue that allowed us to host guests while staying within budget. Itinerary Sunday Whitewater Rafting (10 AM): Nantahala with Carolina Outfitters (highly recommend!) Breweries (1:30–3:30 PM): Hoppy Trout (great private room) & Snowbird Mountains Brewery (provided kegs). Check-in (4 PM) Dinner (7 PM) Champagne Toast at the Peak (7:45 PM): ½-mile hike—steep but worth it! S’mores & Activities (9 PM) Monday Breakfast (8:30–10 AM) Waterfall Hike (10:30–11:30 AM): 1-mile in, 1 out—rain made it tricky but worth it! Lunch (12:30–2 PM) Lawn Games (1:30–3 PM) Ceremony (5:15 PM, DIY setup) Cocktail Hour (5:30 PM) Reception & Dinner (6:45 PM) Evening Activities (8:30 PM) Tuesday Breakfast (8:30 AM) Check-out (by 11 AM) The Food The food was phenomenal—to flawlessly cook this much fish deserves an award. We skipped a cake and were thrilled with the chef’s dessert selections. Menu: Salads: Greek & Balsamic Entrees: Salmon (Night 1), Honey-Balsamic Chicken (Night 1), Trout (Night 2), Steak (Night 2) Sides: Squash, Green Beans, Sweet Potato, Mac & Cheese, Asparagus, Broccolini Logistics & Final Thoughts Jami & Rob were fantastic. If you choose Reunion Style (no wedding package), be prepared to handle logistics yourself. It worked perfectly for us but isn’t for everyone. Their website outlines everything—read it carefully! Alcohol: We used Appalachian Beverage in Ellijay (they have everything). We provided a small amount of liquor, but most guests got their own—so refer back to my event insurance note! Soak it all in. This place is truly magical—like the Disney of wedding venues. We wouldn’t change a thing, and our guests still rave about it. Highly recommend for a unique and unforgettable wedding weekend!

From the moment we started working with Emma at Castle Ladyhawke, we were impressed by their quick, efficient, and warm communication style. The venue itself was absolutely beautiful, with an authentic, charming feeling that made our wedding day feel truly special. The food was fantastic and despite complications it was a beautiful and magical day. While our initial coordinator, Emma, was great to work with over the 8 months leading up to the wedding, we were disappointed to learn upon arrival that she would not be there on the day. Her replacement, Kelsie, arrived late, did not have our updated documents, failed to communicate with the vendors that there was a space for them on the third floor, and seemed to lack the positive energy and personal responsibility we had come to expect. There were also a few small hiccups, like the arch being set up incorrectly initially. But overall, we had a wonderful, memorable day for us and our guests.

Andrea also helped me coordinate with all of my vendors, which made the weekend go much smoother than if I had done it all myself. Every single one of our guests had nothing but great things to say about the venue and the experience. We hope to come back and stay for an anniversary trip some day! If you're looking for a secluded yet beautiful venue to host a small wedding or get together, I highly highly recommend The Willow and Whisk.

The venue itself is absolutely stunning, with beautiful ambiance both during the day and in the evenings. The gorgeous views of the countryside were the perfect backdrop for our ceremony and reception. When we had to suddenly change venues due to a hurricane, the team at Milepost 1808 worked tirelessly to help us move everything in just one week's time. Their hard work paid off, as our wedding day was truly magical. On top of their exceptional service, Milepost 1808 is also very reasonably priced. We were even able to take our bridal portraits with one of their gorgeous horses, Autumn, and the results were breathtaking. I cannot recommend this venue enough for any couple looking to have an unforgettable wedding day.

Kathleen was so helpful and kind. Juliette Chapel and the grounds are just gorgeous. The space is simple, elegant, and peaceful. Very reasonable and budget friendly. Perfect for a DIY bride that wants flexibility and ease. It rained all morning but Margaret was flexible and worked with me to help get the set up we wanted. We ate dinner on the lawn but had the buffet and a few cocktail tables set up inside framing the dance floor. Folks walked in and out with no problem. The lawn is astroturf so there was no mud or puddles from the rain. The woods around the whole are beautiful and make a lovely background for photos. Everyone connected to the chapel (Coordinator, Foxfire event rentals, Limelight staff) works really well together which made it all a breeze for me. I would highly recommend getting married at the Chapel and having your rehearsal dinner and lodging at the Limelight. Incredible set up and lovely people. We couldn’t be happier with the whole experience.

Planning a rehearsal dinner long distance is not an easy thing to do. I contacted several venues in Dahlonega Ga where my son and his fiancee were getting married. No one would call me back except for Twenty Seven on Park. My future daughter-in-law also recommended them since they had stopped in to see if it was a possible wedding venue. The size was too small for the wedding, but it was perfect for the rehearsal dinner! There was plenty of room to mingle and have various stations for desserts and refreshments. Everyone had a great time and the food was delicious!

For the actual wedding, in-house catering is just so much easier. My personal faves were the Mac n’ cheese egg rolls and brisket. Everyone is already ready to go back. Thank you so much!!

Awarded Best of Zola
When my husband and I started looking for our wedding venue, we had pretty high expectations. We are full-time wedding photographers and most of the venues we have been to are pretty cookie cutter and not at all what we wanted for our own wedding. You’ve got your barns, ballrooms, and industrial chic venues and then you’ve got something completely different like New Holland. New Holland has character, charm, and a one-off nature that was exactly what we were looking for. We knew that when we decided to have our wedding after being married already for ten years, it had to be at New Holland. Sophie and Reagan made the experience booking and hosting our wedding effortless. Our entire wedding celebration was unconventional, and because of that, it required a whole lot of coordination with activities and food for our guests that typical weddings don’t necessitate. Sophie and Reagan handled everything the day of the wedding perfectly. It was like one big choreographed dance. I know that without them, our wedding would have been a huge, disorganized embarrassment, and we are so grateful they helped make our day run smoothly so that we could enjoy it. If you’re the kind of bride who is looking for something bespoke and can’t find it at any of the venues you’ve visited so far, I know you’ll find it at New Holland.
