They clearly have a very buttoned up and efficient process, which showed the day of. Now let me talk about the rest of staff … they are AMAZING. We worked with Lawrence and Rosie the weeks leading up to our wedding and the day of and not only did they go above and beyond at their jobs, they truly seemed so happy to be there. There were a number of other team members behind the scenes that helped bring together a seamless wedding (we barely even noticed them - in a good way!) so thank you to the team. This includes the chefs cooking it up in the kitchen, while we didn’t see you … we were told by friends and family how delicious the food was / it was the best wedding food they ever had. The risotto…. Oh my was it delicious!! Another amazing benefit of Blenheim Hill Farm was their recommended babysitter, Victoria - she watched 5 of the kids who attended ceremony but not reception right on the grounds. With every single corner of this property you will find something new and special. Just when you didn’t think it could get more beautiful throughout the day, Mario and Daniel unveil yet another grand detail. Between the home they have perfectly curated, the flower beds, the secret garden, the upper gardens, the gravel throughout, the garden statues, the greenery, the barn, the pond, the fields, I could go on for days about how dreamy it feels. As you take in the the view of flowers, a breeze will follow giving your nose a chance to experience the scent of the flowers, all while the birds and the bees hum their melodies. It is straight out of the most perfect fairytale movie set you can imagine for a wedding- but it is real!\n\nMario and Daniel’s hospitality and professionalism is unmatched. To sum it up, we had many guests tell us how helpful they were the entire day. But they made sure to say that it was the perfect amount of help, not too much and not too little. Guests told us they felt welcomed into this magical space that Mario and Daniel so happily love to share with everyone who enters. I can 100% say we have no regrets about anything because the entire day went even better than we could have imagined. Mario and Daniel are masters at what they do.\n\nMoving onto the wedding planning process. We worked with Mario and Daniel for about a year and a half. They made everything so easy and very straightforward. They were very helpful but not overbearing. One thing I would like to point out is, they have an unspoken understanding of your vision for the day. Some things I hadn’t even thought to communicate they delivered on, because they just understand the vision. I believe this is because they are very connected to each of the couples they plan with. It’s truly amazing!\n\nRegarding vendors, we used most of the vendors Mario and Daniel recommended and we are so happy we did. The chef and his kitchen staff, the wait staff/bartending staff, the ground keepers/gardeners, the handy man who is also part of the staff that does all the wedding set up. I may have missed a department, but, the bottom line is when working there, one feels like family. A family whose sole objective is to give 100% to every wedding, every event.\nThe grounds are so naturally beautiful and the Inn has a personality of it's own that you will not find anywhere else! We first visited about a year before our wedding and immediately felt like it would be the perfect place for our special day. We were greeted by the resident golden retrievers, who followed us on our tour. If you’re a dog lover, you’ll be very happy with this venue! But really, it was Amie, Mary Beth and the rest of the staff who sold us. We immediately felt like they cared about making your day as perfect as possible for us, which was very welcome after touring other venues which felt like they wanted to squeeze every penny from us. After we decided on the venue, Amie was so willing to work with people like us who wanted to plan every detail possible. Amie answered all of my questions and sent additional information like floor plans so I could plan who was assigned to each room as soon as possible. Her communication over email was so incredible helpful! We absolutely loved that we could have so many guests staying at the inn and knew that would be perfect for our winter wedding. Next came our tasting, which was such a fun event. There are two tastings a year, both in March (though I think you could have a private tasting if you need). We loved being able to stay at the inn for a night and meet all of the other couples getting married here within the year. As our wedding was in February, we had to wait a long time between the tasting and trying the food again, and it absolutely didn’t disappoint! Chef Jeff did an amazing job with our welcome party, breakfast and lunch the day of the wedding, the absolutely amazing wedding dinner (and late night snacks), and brunch the next morning! We heard that most couples have a hard time eating during their weddings, but we cleaned our plates! Definitely try the butternut squash ravioli, it is incredible! We had our ceremony in the barn, then moved to the bar in the inn for cocktail hour, then dinner in the dining room, and dancing in the living room. They take out the big pieces of living room furniture and move some chairs to the side for dancing. A lot of my family was skeptical about that, but the inn knows what they’re doing!! The dance floor was plenty big for our party of 60 (and I’m sure it could have accommodate larger groups), and the chairs on the sides were a huge hit! It was incredible to be able to sit down for a minute and still feel like you’re a part of the party. I know a lot of our guests enjoyed that as well. We got ready in the Norman Rockwell suite, which worked out well since we had a small bridal party. We also loved getting to see all the rooms in the inn - every room is thought out so well and has little details that are so fun to find! We thought the inn was what made our wedding weekend so magical and cannot wait to visit again on anniversaries or other special occasions. The team at The Hermitage made the entire process easy, calming and fun and made the weekend lovely, memorable and perfect. Gina was with us from moment one and was a constant professional who was warm, non-judgemental and available whenever needed. She made sure the day of went on without a hitch and took care of all the big and small details, making sure we didn’t need to worry about anything. I was very specific about wanting to start hair and make up later in the day and Gina adjusted the schedule and made sure I had my morning to myself. During the weekend Mercer, Jan, Sarah, Katia and so many others, along with Gina, made it the best weekend with all of our guests saying the same thing. From the rehearsal dinner, breakfasts in the morning, bar service and, of course, the big event, it was all excellent, personal and thoughtful. \nLocation and venue wise The Hermitage was again, perfect. The property and inn are beautiful, luxurious and luscious. It was incredible to have the entire inn to ourselves with our closest family and friends. The carriage house was a perfect home base to not only get ready in but to have drinks at and to have a little welcome event for just those staying at the inn on Thursday night. I have pictures of my parents and aunts and uncles sitting on the porch telling stories which I will cherish forever. The grounds were beautiful for the wedding and even though the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, cocktail hour and reception were at the same venue- each part of the weekend felt unique and intentional as the venue offers so many options. \nIts been fun to look at the other weddings that have happened since ours on Instagram because not one of them have looked similar. That must be the magic of The Hermitage Inn and Gina, as they truly allow you to bring your own wedding to life. \nCan’t wait to come back for a weekend and reminisce. It is nestled inside of rolling hills and the land is covered in beautiful orchards and picturesque white buildings. It was like a scene out of a movie--and it really was, as Good Will Hunting was filmed there! The process of planning the wedding with the staff at Scott Farm was truly seamless. Simon was kind, patient, and helpful, leading us through all the specifications and details of the site, and making himself available if we ever had any questions or concerns. And Jaja was a rock star--she went above and beyond in every aspect of her duties, especially on the wedding day. Sam and Jen were the dream team when it came to preparing for the day in advance and for taking the stress off my shoulders the day of. I went into my day prepared to be bombarded with questions and stressed with scheduling but Sam and Jen handled everything for us.
