We rented the entire property for our wedding weekend. The cabins were perfect for hosting our wedding party, providing a lovely getaway feel, tucked away in the beautiful trees, while still having modern comforts. The A-frames were spacious enough to entertain for our rehearsal dinner. We used little to no decoration around the property as it was already so naturally beautiful; great for photos both inside and out! While Salted Roots has a lovely setup for an intimate ceremony on the beach side, we were set on having our ceremony directly on the beach at low tide. Since the property is towards the end of the road, we felt like we had the place to ourselves even with it being a public beach. We had seals, otters, and even a rainbow appear in the backdrop of our ceremony instead...not saying it's guarantee but magic seems to happen here ;) As if that was not enough, Matt and KellyAnn were AMAZING to work with! They were great at communicating and so eager to help us envision our day, whether by taking a tour (or two...or three....) about the property or discussing logistics. Some of the best and kindest people you will ever meet. Stephanie and her family went above and beyond to ensure all our questions were answered and that we felt confident as we planned remotely for our big day. She was incredibly hands on throughout the planning process and day of - personally driving us to our first-look location and assisting the vendors to ensure a smooth day. Her children were incredibly professional and engaging when handling the horses who were featured in our photos and also available for the guests to interact with. The venue itself provided a large and clean bridal suite for us to get ready in, a large kitchen for our caterer to prep in, and was ready and prepared for all vendors we brought in. I knew with the hard work, determination, & talent that she & Forrest have, this would become a stunning place. That was 2019. Boy did they knock it out of the park. They have created a wedding wonderland. The pavillion is perfect for cover. Whether you use it for your seating, dancing, or both. Its large wood columns & beams give you the true Alaskan feel. As you're standing inside you can't help but be mesmerized by the mountains surrounding you or the vastness of the fields. River has also done a fantastic job in her selection of tables & chairs. The tables are large 6ft rounds that allow you to seat 8 people comfortably, & the chairs are not only beautiful but comfortable. I had multiple guest state that they were very comfortable. When it got cold in the evening, River got out the heaters for us all to warm around, she is always trying to make every experience the best it can & goes out of her way to make it happen. The bathrooms are clean, large enough for even the big ballgowns, & she even took the time to make plaques telling you about the vegetation around you that can harm you if you come in contact. I've been to many venues, I don't know a single one that has been this thorough, in not only creating the full experience of a great event, but also the care for the people who choose her venue. It truly was a dream getting married there. I can't wait to watch the venue continue to grow & become all that she has envisioned.
