We set up a brief meeting, shared our vision (we wanted a "photojournalist approach"), and mapped out a schedule of events. Anything that we did not think to ask, he made sure to bring up and help make our vision more complete. Chris was excellent at capturing all of the tiny moments of the night without being in anyone's way. The pictures that he captured were absolutely STUNNING--the perfect amount of sentimental moments captured in beautiful lighting and silly off the cuff moments that captured the essence of each and every guest. We would work again with Chris in a heartbeat and friends have already requested his contact information for their ceremony. As an added bonus, because we did not end up using Chris for all of the allotted time, he offered to do a separate photoshoot whenever we would like. “Darcy was an absolute pleasure to work with and we LOVE our photos. She truly captured the emotions of the day and the essence of all the people we love the most. Any time i look at our photos, i find myself involuntarily smiling. She captured the classic posed photos AND the precious in-between moments where people are being their most authentic selves (the face my dad makes when he's really intently listening, the hand gestures my mom uses when she's explaining something and can't find the right words, the face my mother in law makes when she's cracking herself up, the face my father in law makes right before the tears fall, and so so many more). Not ONLY are her photos amazing, but she made us feel so relaxed on the day-of. Her style is totally unobtrusive, which is just what we needed. Darcy got such amazing photos of all our guests we put 4x6" prints in our thank you cards and people were SO appreciative. She's on fridges across America. Comments we've gotten in response to Darcy's photos: "WOW your photographer is phenomenal", "this is the best photo of us in existence", "you guys look so happy!", "I feel like the photographer really captured your personalities" If capturing joy is important to you, hire Darcy. “Natalie shot my engagement photos and they were everything I could have hoped for and more. The proposal was a total surprise, and I still can't believe how well they came out and how seamlessly she captured even the initial moments given how unprepared I was! Not only were the photos amazing (and sent to us on a super quick turnaround, even though it was over the holidays) but she also gave so much helpful guidance and was such a calming presence throughout the shoot. I am not always naturally good at posing and was very nervous, but she gave very clear direction and really put me at ease so that the best moments she captured were really natural ones. Our photoshoot was at the National Portrait Gallery, so she also worked closely with my fiancée to find lots of different art and settings throughout the museum —looking back at the photos now I can really see how her artistry and vision came to life! She expertly worked with the art to use dynamic angles and perspectives that were unique and gave us a lot of options. We also took a few pictures at the Christmas market outside the gallery, and even those came out amazing, which is so impressive considering it was PACKED and we could barely move! It’s hard to put into words how much it means to have such a special time preserved so beautifully. Since I was so surprised, a lot of the day went by in a blur, and I’m so thankful to be able to relive it again and again through the photos. I couldn’t stop crying when we got them and have gotten ENDLESS compliments since posting them on social! WE LOVE NATALIE!!”

“As you’ll come to see with vendors, not all of them are very responsive, Barbora was always responsive no matter what time I texted her and had a question to ask her prior to the wedding. She’s punctual (something I care a lot about), she’s very organized (had a timeline and stuck to it) she is also very reliable so that made me comfortable. On the wedding day, she was a delight to be around. She worked so so hard. I literally got to a point where I had to remind her to go have her meal. She took what I thought were beautiful pictures. I wanted spontaneous and organic pictures and she captured just that. I am very awkward in front of the camera (and so is my husband), she helped direct us and made us comfortable. I also wanted pictures in front of the DC monuments, as you can imagine they’re crazy busy on the weekend but she managed to direct us along with the rest of our group and took some of the most beautiful photos (I thought). What I valued the most about Barbora is that it felt like she genuinely cared. It wasn’t a job that she had to go to, she really enjoyed what she was doing.”
