 The Tom s. Gettys Center (formerly, Gettys Art Center), managed by the Arts Council of York County, is located in the Downtown Rock Hill Cultural District. It is a true arts destination for York county as it is home to offices of the Arts Council of York County, the Rock Hill Pottery Center, Art on Main, Concerts at the Courtroom, Hill City Church, and artist studios. Swanee Theatre opened as a single screen movie theatre in 1940 and operated as such up until the 70's. In 2019 it was purchased and renovated into what it is now, a beautiful historic entertainment venue. Hart Square is a 200 acre oasis settled in the rolling hills of Western North Carolina. It is the largest collection of log cabins in the country. There are 3 lakes, two chapels, a covered picnic area and several fields, including a 5 acre sunflower field.

The Murray’s Mill Historic District, in the rolling countryside of eastern Catawba County, nestles just as it was a century ago along the banks of Balls Creek. Preserved intact are the 1913 mill itself, the 1890s Murray & Minges General Store, the 1880s Wheathouse, used as an exhibit gallery, the 1913 John Murray House, furnished to the period, and numerous outbuildings. Run by three generations of the Murray Family who closed operations in 1967, the picturesque structures and surrounding land form the last milling complex in the county, meticulously preserved and interpreted by the Catawba County Historical Association since 1980.
