In 1929, Jean-Pierre Auguste Dalmas, a Waldensian immigrant from Villar Pellice, Italy, started construction on the dairy barn on his property in Valdese, NC. After the barn had been completed, work began on the main house. He built a rock veneered masterpiece, large enough to house his 7 children. He cleared a field for a vineyard and until his death in 1972 (at the age of 92), he made wine in the basement of the main house every autumn.

Uptown Indigo is a family owned and operated venue with two floors and a breathtaking rooftop terrace. The design is "chic industrial" with lots of artistic details. From the original tin ceilings to the handmade tiles, Uptown Indigo is a truly unique wedding venue. The venue can accommodate up to 220 seated guests, with the largest space being the 6,000 square foot Indigo Ballroom. This ballroom is characterized by its modern light fixtures combined with original historic elements. It is fully accessible with a vintage elevator and large, elegant bathrooms. The Steeples Event Space is on the top floor, complete with a prohibition-era, rustic space for cocktail hours or smaller ceremonies. Homewood is a beautifully restored 1920s stone manor located in Asheville's post-Victorian historic district of Montford. The elegant castle was originally built as a private home. The elegance of the 1920s luminesces from original wrought iron chandeliers and alabaster sconces, casting graceful lighting from the 20-foot ceilings of the Great Room to the original hardwood floors, cherry walls, and grand Appalachian stone fireplaces. Homesteads Events is a division of Homesteads Management, one of the Piedmont and Western North Carolina fastest-growing and well-respected event & hospitality companies. A small non-descript utility building on the premises, while listed as a “noncontributing” structure, is believed to have been a carriage house for the David Ramsour House (ca. 1820) which occupied the property years ago.
