In 1865, after a stagecoach crash, two travelers were welcomed by William and Mary Jane Dodge, who later opened Mountain View House. Over generations, the resort expanded, hosting celebrities and presidents. Our barn uses centuries - old techniques and traditions of joining heavy timber frames with a mortise and tenon method, supported by wooden pegs and brackets. Using local woodworkers and craftsman bring the true Maine experience to our barn.
