Throughout the planning process we worked with Sarah, who was awesome all the way from planning the details, picking up the phone whenever I needed her, providing advice on anything I asked, and all the way through to the day of. She handled everything that came up with grace and kindness, even in tough family situations that arose. We chose CS Grand Cascades for a few key reasons (1) the amazing menu and presentation of the food (2) the beautiful ceremony, cocktail hour and reception spaces no matter rain or shine and (3) the value you get for your money. We also LOVED the fact that the hotel was on-site and we didn’t need to worry about transportation for ourselves or our guests throughout the day and afterwards. This provided SO many advantages, including access to the bridal suite all day and being able to take advantage of the hotel bar on-site for a causal after party without any extra cost to us. It is definitely an under-rated venue in NJ that we are SO happy we found! We were able to stick to our ideal budget while not comprising on quality of the event. I have been told by so many people how we threw the BEST wedding they’ve ever been to. The event staff is a well-oiled machine and truly think of everything to make your day the most special and seamless experience. The high ceilings, gorgeous chandeliers, and amazing backlighting led to wonderful pictures. We had several guests comment on how beautiful the venue was. We utilized floating candles for our centerpieces which played amazingly with the added candles provided by the Farmhouse. The staff was attentive, helpful, and communicative. \n\nThey paid attention to detail and were always available to put our minds at ease.\nWe also rented the bridal suite and groom’s suite. Both suites were spacious, filled with entertainment, and included private bathrooms and mini fridges. There was plenty of space for my hair and makeup team.. We all had a wonderful time getting ready for the wedding.\n\n The food and chef were absolutely incredible. We were able to completely customize the menu by adding things like garlic mashed potatoes and chicken francese. We only viewed 2 venues, this being the second, because as soon as we saw NSH we felt at home. \n\nLocation:\nIt felt like we were on vacation and not in New Jersey, it was so serene and special. Grounds were impeccable. Each season brings a different feel, even with a misty day it was striking with the flowers, antique gates, greenery, etc. Every time we visited off season there was some maintenance being done that just goes to show the love that gets put into it. The history behind the grounds was very interesting to us and we made sure to get a picture with their bar (originally imported from Brooklyn). They have beautifully decorated guest rooms with gorgeous bathrooms and a classy feel. They allowed us to pre-pick who would be given what room to avoid any drama. Our corner room was the newlywed suite and had the best view on the grounds, we felt so special!\n\nService:\nNSH is a family owned business and they bring charm in everything they do. It was a pleasant surprise that throughout the process we met a new family member running different aspects - the kitchen/catering, grounds work, business/sales, etc! Throughout the experience (and especially day of) they would check in to make sure everything was to expectations. No wonder it felt like we were at home.\nWe must call out that our day of coordinator, Samantha, was a literal dream to work with. She was light hearted, flexible, and felt like a friend helping you plan your day (without any of the drama that you might get working with family/friends :) professionalism was top notch). Special thanks to Eric as well that gave us the initial tour and supported our whole experience.\n\nDay Of:\nIt was rainy and they waited until last minute to make the call if we would do outdoor ceremony. Thankfully it lightened up and they set up all the chairs within 30 mins of the start time so that the guests would not sit on soaking wet chairs. I loved how they met up with me (the bride) before the ceremony entrance which made me feel special. They had a bridal attendant Diana that was very friendly and brought us food, champagne, etc. \n\nOverall we are so happy we chose NSH to have our wedding. Everything had high attention to detail. The bride's father is a musician and has played hundreds of weddings and in general has high expectations - but he was very impressed with the grounds (\"Spotless - you can tell they put in a lot of work\") and the food (\"This was real restaurant food, not wedding food\"). Other family members continue to say how special of a wedding it was and how much they loved the historic Inn. It will always hold a special place in our heart - not only for our wedding, but for the first meeting of our parents, we reserved dinner there exactly 1 year from our date and enjoyed the ambiance, food, and service, getting us all so excited for the big day. Highly recommend this idea for other couples so you can picture what it will be like day of and get a different kind of tasting experience! There aren’t enough words to express our gratitude to their entire team for all of their hard work to make our visions and dreams come to life. Each and every staff member was kind, and helpful. If you had a question you’d get a response promptly and always with a “let’s see what we can do attitude”. Katherine (the owner) made you feel a part of the CKE family and always was looking to make the planning process seamless and easy for us and our family. The CKE floral and design team made our big ideas all come to life- we had a visions of big branching centerpieces with florals tucked in, that Jess and her team absolutely delivered on. On top of that, we asked for an installation over our sweetheart table. Jess and her team have many suggestions and shared they visited Home Depot at least 3 times to see how it would hang, and the final installation beyond exceeded our expectations. The talent and grace their team exudes is what ever bride and groom look for in a team. The planning process was also so seamless due to their amazing coordinator team. We worked with Katrina, the kindest, most professional coordinator we have ever met. Katrina was available at every step of the planning process, providing thoughtful recommendations due to her very obvious experience. Katrina also was there for our wedding day of helping to manage the schedule, set up, constantly checking in, and making sure it all went according to plan (which it did). In addition during the reception Katrina was checking with us throughout the night to see if we wanted to pivot anything or if we needed anything. We are extremely grateful for her support! In addition, Kyle was our maitre d’ for the evening and he did an absolutely wonderful job. He made sure to check in with my husband and I as well as our immediate family members. He was so kind and professional! \n\nLastly but very importantly- the food and drinks! Most of all of our guests shared that this was the best wedding food they have ever had. It is no small feat cooking for large groups and every aspect of the food from the cocktail hour to the dinner course was absolutely fantastic. These are a few quotes from guests: \n- “The food was gourmet.”\n- “This is the real deal.”\n- “The sushi… Oh, the sushi! So fresh!”\nIn addition, the bartenders crushed it! I can rave about our wedding forever, our event planner Alessandra Moss helped us every step of the way. Our guests enjoyed the heavenly cocktail hour and were impressed with the professionalism of the staff. Day of coordinator Jennifer was attentive and took care of all my bridal needs. We highly recommend booking Nicotras Ballroom at the Hilton Garden Inn for your wedding venue, we had a lot of guests traveling and it was easy for our guests to stay in the hotel. We shared our first look on the beautiful property, there are endless options for photo ops. We were able to take many photos and video inside and outside the venue. The ceremony took place outside on the Gazebo, it was absolutely stunning, the weather was perfect. Alessandra met with us regularly in person and was easily accessible via email. She walked us through the wedding planning and guided us on the next steps of the process.
