I love that Skip was not judgmental about music, he was totally open to what we wanted. We had "do not play" and "must play" lists. He was prompt, well-prepared, and sweet. Our wedding ceremony was SO much fun and I attribute a lot of that to Skip. He can read the room and kept the dance party going for FOUR hours. It was originally 3 hours, but everyone was having so much fun that we extended our time. He's like a dance magician, he knows when to change songs and what the crowd wants. Our dance floor was never empty until our venue said we had to close it down. I recently reached out to Skip to DJ an event last week, and he responded in less than 24 hours with availabilities. I can't wait for the day that I can go to another Skip event!”

Ed Mays Groove Kitchen is a red hot Seattle based dance band made up of some of the Pacific Northwest’s finest entertainers. We specialize in classic R&B in the tradition of Aretha Franklin, Sade, Earth Wind & Fire, Chaka Khan, Stevie Wonder, Bonnie Raitt, etc. But because of our extensive backgrounds our repertoire is actually quite broad and can include vocal & instrumental jazz, classic rock, blues , Latin, etc. We also play a lot of current hits. It helps to have something for everybody. However which way you like it, we’ve got the groove that is going to make you dance!

“Mark was extremely easy to work with! He communicated quickly, and was clear with expectations/information he needed from us. We really appreciated all of the pieces he managed during the event. He was able to mic up our officiant, guide the guests during our surprise scavenger hunt cocktail hour, he ran a super amusing Shoe Game (see pictures) and kept the formal dance with our parents short and sweet! Our venue was outdoors and we moved across the property over the evening, he came early to setup, and stayed late to say goodbye to us. Neither of us (the bride and groom) are big dancers, and we were worried our dance floor would be empty, but he played many hits that kept the guests happy and moving! We would definitely recommend him for your events!”
