Ruth's Garden is the newest venue in historic downtown Gastonia. The Garden is a secluded and serene space, perfect for your next event. The venue has the capacity for a maximum of 60 people. This is an intimate, warm, and cozy venue. You can also have your event memorialized with engraved bricks or pavers! Since Ruth's Garden is a part of The Animal League of Gaston County, a non-profit organization, we can offer a competitive rate compared to other venues in the area. ​The barn has been built from the ground up by Craig Carpenter, his brother Timmy Carpenter and other family and friends. Many of the trees use to build the barn were harvested from their property and were prepared at their saw mill on site. The idea for a wedding venue began was a dream of their daughter, now Zimmerwald's Estate manager Katie Carpenter White. What began as a simple dream and a sketch on a piece of notebook paper, has now become a reality. Our property features a traditional-style barn and ranch house perfect for hosting weddings and more. The barn, with rustic southern pine interior, overlooks a gorgeous 3-acre pond. The farmhouse is also available to rent to add even more space for your event.

The Emerald Woods is a beautiful historic venue in Western North Carolina hosting weddings, small personal retreats and private gatherings. Imagine getting married surrounded by forest on all sides, deer hidden in the woods and with the backdrop of a historic house that is hidden from view from the rest of the world. Your host, Lilly Bakken, purchased the property in August of 2020 and since then has renovated every room within the house and is now continuing to add to the landscaping with an abundance of flowering trees, hydrangea, dahlias and other perennials. Many outside seating areas have been added to the property, quiet little nooks for conversation and for guests to connect with each other.
