The concept of Oceanique began aside the cool, clear waters of Barbados in 1995. Darlene was already actively marketing Barbados as a destination and offering destination event services. Oceanique was the connection to this already exciting venture. Oceanique Catering and Events was reestablished in Michigan in December of 2015, and is proud to announce that we have been named TOP PRO by our clients for the past four years.

I set out to create the opposite of franchise food. I focus on made-from-scratch foods and shy away from pre-packaged processed food products. I scour the market and try dozens of products before selecting my band of suppliers to enhance your culinary experience. Many of the vendors we source from are local and female-owned businesses. Whether it’s the macarons in the fridge at the Side Dish or the spices in your Clam Chowder at the Sham Shack, I have taste-tested it all, and in most cases truly know the people who are making or growing it.

Chemical X also offers non-denominational wedding ceremony officiant services. Our owner/operator, Elizabeth, 30, has been in the service industry for over a decade, finding her true calling as a Bartender when she migrated to Cleveland in 2015. She has competed in various cocktail competitions, became a Tales of The Cocktail alumni, acquired her TIPs, ServSafe & Bar Smarts certificates & opened Chemical X, a one stop shop for all your event needs!
