When thinking about catering cost , consider drinks, hors d'oeuvres and stations, and the main meal itself. Bar services are quoted per person and pricing often depends on what alcohol you want (more expensive packages include pricier labels). It’s best to start researching caterers 10–12 months out , and book around 8 months out. You may not always be able to schedule a tasting before booking your caterer. For many smaller vendors, the effort and expense to put together tastings without a signed contract is prohibitive. In these cases, your tasting will take place after you’ve booked the caterer and will focus on refining menu choices.

“TL;DR - when they say full-service, they mean full-service! Easily the best food and drink we (and most of our guests) have ever had at a wedding. The staff and especially our coordinator, Erica, were highly communicative, accommodating, enthusiastic, and went above and beyond to make our wedding as great as it could have been! Well worth the price! It's worth noting that they were partnered with our venue, Olio Event Space in Peabody, MA, but I have little doubt that they'd do an excellent job just about anywhere else they're willing to go. We had first heard of Vinwood through our venue because they had specific requirements and a list of partnered vendors we more or less had to choose from without a ton of hassle. While this could have easily become a nightmare, nearly all doubt was washed away as soon as we attended a tasting they hosted. We got to experience firsthand how great their food and staff were before getting into the thick of things, and we were able to get a head start on picking entrees, hors d'oeuvres, linens, and chinaware while we were at the tasting. When we had to lock things in, Vinwood was willing and able to accommodate our handful of allergic/picky eaters and create a dessert spread (cookie, brownie, and ice cream sundae bar) for us because we didn't want a wedding cake. From there until the big day, they remained very communicative about what they needed from us and what we could expect from them throughout the process, even going so far as to help us map out the order of operations in the wedding! Finally, on the big day, Erica and her staff took care of us throughout and were all very kind and personable. They went above and beyond in helping us decorate and brighten up the space to make it perfect for us, and we were once again blown away by the service, food, and drinks. We had lots of comments during and after the wedding about how great the food and drinks were, too. They took care of everything in the table and chair setups/moves/breakdown with what Vinwood, the venue, and we provided, all in a timely manner. I'll never forget one of the staff stopping to let me know the bar was closing, and despite getting lost in conversation again and again, she personally brought over a drink for me with a wink and a smile when she saw me failing to get away. If you couldn't tell by now, I can't sing them enough praise - thank you, Vinwood!!”

We settled on a BBQ buffet with a few extras (hot cider and candy apple table) and it was a hit with guests. Several guests came up to me to say how good the food was, especially the appetizers. The option to have our menu cooked to order on charcoal grills right beside our tent in live-action was superior; there were no soggy reheated trays of food, the meat timings were perfect, no limitations due to not having cooking equipment as with some catering. Our guests are still raving over the food, and I think about placing a smaller-scale order at least once a month! Many couples say they didn't get to eat their dinner as they were too busy - we MADE SURE we ate our whole plates full. Just thinking back on our prime rib, mac and cheese, bacon-wrapped scallops - I'm starving for more! If you want a catering company that doesn't blow smoke, feels like an extension of your wedding immediately upon meeting, is mindful of allergies and ingredients, with enthusiasm and pride in their team, don't shop around, just do it!”
