L.","reviewText":"Words cannot describe this magical venue- you have to see it to believe it! It's literally breathtaking. The staff were amazing from the early communication to my day of event manager (the two ladies helped me A LOT!). Amanda was someone who I worked with on my multiple visits and she is an absolute gem! The staff helped make my vision a reality and even a month later, people are still raving about our wedding. The venue is so gorgeous (think double deck cabin style) that it needs minimalist decor (they even have a rental room you can use for the decor) because the scenery is more than enough for pictures. The layout of your event is very up to you with multiple options for where you would want the ceremony to be held. I loved using the patio for the ceremony (gorgeous trees as the backdrop), then held the reception inside (main level with bar deck), and had the dancing back out on the patio (the staff cleared the space but left chairs and benches along the outer rim). The nearby fire pit was perfect for a s'mores station and the side of the building has a nice grassy lawn where guests also enjoyed corn hole. The bridal suite is of good size with a full bathroom and a private deck (my ladies and I enjoyed our morning to the fullest), and then there are two other smaller suites (we did groom suite and the other room was to co-mingle). The staff let me plan multiple week day visits prior to my official planning meeting so that I could get measurements for things, scope out the layout and really get my vision put together on my time. My family and friends all loved staying in the treehouses (what a cool experience itself!). The bar is included with the venue (AMAZING packages with more options included in each than I have seen anywhere else- even with the basic package) so I just had to focus on the decor and the food (catering and desserts). You do only get the venue the day-of unless you luck out and pay for early set-up the day prior (I got lucky with my Saturday wedding and was able to come in Friday to decorate but they are normally booked with Friday weddings). Lots of parking made it convenient for guests. The location is close to pretty much anything you'll need for a wedding weekend. It's within a 1 minute walk to a variety of potential photograph locations (e.g. Hall Auditorium, Tappan Square...) as well as business (e.g. salons, restaurants, cafes) that can help your wedding day go smoothly. There are also a variety of potential ceremony locations within walking distance. We chose the Apollo Theater across the street. The team at the hotel, especially Lauren, was responsive and helpful every step of the way. The chef and Lauren worked together to accommodate a variety of dietary restrictions and requests (e.g. extra entree option, catered lunch and snacks...). They were also helpful with managing the linen rentals, room design, and room block reservations. Guests were charmed by Oberlin and gave us feedback that they enjoyed being able to slow and down and enjoy small town life during the weekend. Their communication was quick, informative, and always helpful, which made the planning process seamless. The quality of their work and value was outstanding - the venue was beautiful and clean, and they were able to flip a room quickly and you couldn’t even tell we were in the same room for the reception! The venue really transformed! We were running behind schedule and they were quick to give us extra time so we didn’t have to rush our schedule. Also there is a small lake behind the venue which is stunning, you will not need to leave the venue for family photos after the wedding! They had plenty of staging rooms and an unexpected but appreciated compliment I got from our guest was how good our cocktail hour was, we had indoor and outdoor areas to relax and mingle! My one criticism is, we did find that they could improve the transparency around the financial aspects of the process, as we felt they were not the best stewards of our wedding budget. Despite this concern, I’d still choose them again, they barely hesitated to fix or clear up any concerns we had along the way and I’m sure they will continue to improve in this area. First, it is logistically so much easier for couples to have everything taking place in one location. They can stay overnight the night before, get ready there, ceremony, photos, reception, and then afterward all of their guests can stay right there. This means there is no need to coordinate guest transportation, off-site hotels, bridal party transportation for photos, or have an elongated break for photography after the ceremony since it is much faster to do on site. Second, there are plenty of outdoor spaces for couples or bridal party photos if it rains! This is a huge advantage that not all venues have and rain is a real concern for an Ohio wedding. Third, there is a variety of spots on the property for doing group or couples photos. You can have the look of brick, green lawn, the beautiful pergola with all the greenery, the iconic covered walkway, some flowers, a tree-lined area where the leaves change colors SO perfectly in the Fall, and of course the fountain! By the way, the pond is amazing for sunset photos! We have been at Nationwide many times as photographers and always had a great experience. The food was always hot and served on schedule, and their staff is so friendly and genuinely wants to create the best experience for their guests. With Little Tennessee and Nikki, we didn’t have to worry about a thing. I just kept being surprised at how much was included in our package (the cheapest full wedding package). It really ended up being our dream wedding. Oh and the pictures!! I love them so much. It rained on our wedding day so we were unable to get several of the shots that I wanted, but Nikki and Sue Ann worked their magic and everything came out phenomenally. I truly cannot explain how happy we were with Little Tennessee. I reached out to inquire and Laura was SO kind, helpful and prompt with communication. We loved the venue and booked, sent out invitations and planned our wedding super quickly (after 10 years together.) Every step of the way went smoothly with planning and communication and we absolutely LOVED having our wedding there.\n\n We had room for a live band, there was plenty of parking, lots of great places for photo ops on the property, a lovely bridal room to get ready in, a silo gazebo, we could choose our own caterer, there plenty of seating (we loved the church pews and the wooden chairs,) and there were just so many other nice touches. \nWe bought small glass jars which they filled with their honey (for a reasonable fee) and we gave our guests Honey Blossom Orchard honey as the wedding reception favor.
