The Alexander Room and Terrace

5.0

Metairie, LA
  • Up to 325 guests
  • All-inclusive
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $12,000

Located in the heart of Metairie, The Alexander Room and Terrace is truly a hidden gem. The Alexander Room was conceived and built by the International Brotherhood of Electricians in 1984. The intent was for The Alexander Room to be a contender among Metairie’s event venues. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the room was never marketed to the general public. In 2014, Troy and Cindy Timphony of Hobnobber Café were approached with the idea of taking over the catering, management and marketing of the Alexander Room. Over the course of the next few years improvements were made, menus prepared and website and social media added to bring you the polished jewel that is The Alexander Room and Terrace.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Has a chic vibe
  • Provides catering services
  • All-inclusive venue packages

Venue considerations

  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • No in-house lighting and sound packages available
  • Best for events with big guest lists
Mrs. Cindy, the Timphony family, & all of the staff here at The Alexander Room are the absolute best. Our wedding went off without a hitch, and was an absolute dream come true. From day one, Mrs. Cindy made sure to check in with our stress levels, and assure us that she would be there for anything we needed. To say we felt special, and taken care of, is such an understatement. The venue is incredible, with a spacious indoor, and a fabulous terrace overlooking the best parts of Metairie. The guests ate up the indoor/outdoor experience, and were all able to mingle very well with the layout. And the food —- off the charts. We got SO many compliments on the food! If you’re hesitating, don’t. This is the place for your special day.

I could not pull off a wonderful review like this without a great venue partner. For brides looking for an all inclusive destination wedding location, the Canal Street is awesome and perfect. One of our happy clients: I am beyond grateful to have had Kristen as our wedding planner for our destination wedding at the Canal Street Inn. Planning a wedding from out of town can be overwhelming, but she made the entire process not just manageable, but truly enjoyable! From the very beginning, Kristen took the time to understand our vision and preferences. She provided invaluable insights into the local culture and customs, ensuring that our wedding was a beautiful blend of our personal touch and the charm of the destination. What impressed me the most was her incredible organization and communication skills. Despite the distance Kristen kept us informed every step of the way, coordinating everything from vendor bookings to logistics. She always made time to answer all our questions, making us feel connected and supported throughout the planning process. On our wedding day, Kristen and her team worked tirelessly to ensure that everything went perfectly. They managed all the details seamlessly, allowing us to focus on celebrating with our family and friends. It was truly a dream come true, and I was able to enjoy every moment without any stress. Thank you, Kristen and PK Events for your dedication, creativity, and hard work. You turned our destination wedding into a magical experience that we and our guests will cherish forever. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone planning a wedding, especially if you’re looking for someone who can expertly handle the complexities of a destination event!- Love, September Bride

Where the Water Meets the Moment Not every wedding has a view like this and not every love story deserves the ordinary. Welcome to The Lakehouse, the only wedding venue in New Orleans perched directly on the edge of Lake Pontchartrain. Here, sunsets shimmer across the water, sailboats drift by, and the skyline fades into twilight as you say I do. Our open-air deck gives you the ceremony backdrop no ballroom can offer, while our indoor reception space pairs classic New Orleans charm with modern refinement. Whether you’re planning a 200-person fête or an intimate celebration, we tailor the experience to reflect your style, not a template. This is where unforgettable begins.

  • Both indoor and outdoor options

Venue considerations

  • On-site parking not available
  • Venue feels large for events with small guest lists

We recently attended a wedding at The Lakehouse, and it was hands-down one of the most stunning events we’ve ever experienced — and we’ve seen a lot through Jet Set! The modern design mixed with the serene lakefront views created a picture-perfect setting from start to finish. Every detail was thoughtfully curated, and the flow of the event felt seamless. You could feel how special the space was — both sophisticated and welcoming. The staff at The Lakehouse went above and beyond to make every guest feel taken care of. The service, ambiance, and beauty of this venue are truly unmatched. If you're considering a venue that will WOW your guests and create lifelong memories, The Lakehouse is it. It’s more than just a venue — it’s an experience.
