Joanna is a writer, performer, and experienced officiant who marries couples of all backgrounds within 100 miles of Washington, DC. Raised in a multi-faith home and having lived abroad, she loves weaving cultural and religious traditions into ceremonies. (Don't worry, they're still mostly secular and feminist!) Joanna had an elopement, a formal wedding, and a separate reception—so she truly gets it! She’s ordained through AMM and ULC, trained in the Business of Officiating, and is a member of IAPWO. In off hours, she walks her rescue dog, Corrigan, reads or sings. She can’t wait to help you create a celebration that feels just right.

As the owner of Spirit Fire Life Ceremonies, she crafts rituals and ceremonies for regular folks with extraordinary souls. Although she is formally educated and trained, life, love, and experience have been her most profound masterclass. She helps others grow in love through weddings, funerals, and Soul Circles­™.
