Showalter’s Orchard

5.0

Timberville, VA
  • Select services
  • Outdoor & indoor
  • Starts at $5,300

Over the years, we've enjoyed sharing our farm with our friends and family for their uniquely beautiful weddings. Seeing our extraordinary aerie from their perspective reminded us to take in how special it is, and it inspired us to redesign and renovate a former greenhouse. We’ve created a belvedere of sorts with walls of windows that make a feature of our wondrous view of the Shenandoah Valley.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Has onsite accommodations
  • Surrounded by beautiful vineyards
  • Rustic-chic setting

Venue considerations

  • Does not provide event staff
  • No in-house lighting and sound packages available
  • Does not have a dance floor
Showalter’s was one of two venues on our short list, and we’re very glad we decided to go with them. We wanted a mountain view during the ceremony and the terrace was absolutely perfect. The greenhouse is gorgeous and looks amazing both in person and in photographs and was the perfect backdrop. We served cider and apple cider donuts and our guests loved both. It felt so unique and special! Working with everyone at the venue was incredibly easy, and they were so kind and welcoming to us and felt like they really wanted to make sure our day went well. We booked all of the AirBnBs on the property and would definitely recommend doing so. The “bridal” suite off of the Greenhouse was great for staging and getting a moment away during the wedding, having the extra space for actually getting ready was a very good choice (especially with larger wedding parties and lots of people doing hair and makeup). We also stayed in one of the AirBnBs the night before and afterwards, and being on the property was incredibly convenient as hotels in Harrisonburg are a bit of a hike. The AirBnBs were cute and worked great for our purposes! We stayed in one of the AirBnBs through to the Monday after our Saturday wedding which was great and made it so that we didn’t have to rush getting everything out the morning after the wedding. Cloverdale Barn is a beautiful, rustic venue! We wanted a venue where we could have an outdoor ceremony with a great view, with an indoor reception that would be easy to decorate to reflect our style. Cloverdale Barn made our wedding dreams come true! Claire, the owner, allowed us to make the barn our own and was very easy to work with. She was kind, understanding, flexible and knowledgable. Being new to the area, we really relied on her to make recommendations for other vendors needed for the wedding. I highly recommend Cloverdale Barn to anyone that wants a simple yet elegant wedding!

Shenandoah Valley Golf Club was the perfect venue for our wedding day. From the moment we first spoke with Tracey, the event coordinator, we knew we were in good hands. She was attentive, caring, and clearly knowledgeable about every aspect of hosting a wedding at their lovely facility. Tracey was personally invested in ensuring our special day went smoothly, and it did - everything flowed as seamlessly as it could have thanks to her hard work behind the scenes. The architecture and scenery of the golf club were absolutely stunning, providing an amazing backdrop for our ceremony and reception. And the food was truly exceptional; we took Tracey's recommendations for the reception food and had zero issues. Guests commented on how good the chicken was! Some of the best wedding cuisine we've ever tasted. Shenandoah Valley Golf Club offered great value for the quality, and we're so grateful to Tracey and the entire team for making our wedding day dreams come true.
