Opening its doors in 1997, Soho South is located in the heart of Historic Downtown Savannah, appropriately named after the iconic New York City neighborhood for its proximity to nearby shops and entertainment venues. Built originally as an automotive service station in 1945, the building sat vacant for a number of years before being transformed into the events venue you see today. The monumental, vast interior space includes the buildings original exposed elements such as the steel windows, iron trusses, and solid wooden garage doors. The Charleston Yacht Club was founded in 1934 at Adger's Wharf at the end of Tradd Street and moved to our current location at the city marina in 1985. Our venue space, called The Flag Room, consists of a banquet hall, riverside porch and deck, and bridal sequester room. We're available for site tours Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

The Ashley can accommodate groups from 20-100 attendees. We will work with all event planners, vendors and caterers in the Charleston area and can accommodate any request. We have brought The Ashley to West Ashley to fill the void of affordable venues and event spaces in the Charleston area.

The walls consist of rustic brick and floor-to-ceiling windows that reveal a view of the architecturally acclaimed Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge. The 8,000-square-foot private event venue can accommodate parties and celebrations of up to 500 guests, from intimate cocktail receptions to seated dinners for 300 guests. The space features a bridal suite, built-in bar, and a courtyard with 1,500 square feet of additional event space. Onsite parking for guests is available after 5:00 pm.
