I had my first shot at managing a sushi restaurant when I took over an empty section of the family restaurant and introduced sushi to my customers. It was a challenge that I will never regret accepting. It was fun, a lot of fun! I had the opportunity to work with some really talented and creative chefs. I quickly learned that it’s not just about having fresh fish anymore. Sushi dining has transformed into a culture. A culture built by imagination and creativity. With the help of GD and the support of my family, I took all that experience and fused it with my imagination and created Yooshi Sushi Catering and Event Production.

Poke (po-keh) is the Hawaiian word to “slice” or “cut crosswise” and has been served as a traditional raw fish dish around the islands for thousands of years. Our poke bowls offer fresh flavors made only with locally grown ingredients, providing an authentic taste and of Hawai'i diverse culture and flavors. When not out catering private events, you can find Chef Dalan cooking through the open kitchen window at his hip downtown restaurant Rascal's Vegan in Santa Barbara, serving up the most delicious and authentic plant-based Mexican cuisine. Dalan started out in the culinary world, slinging tortas out of his garage to friends and neighbors. His journey has taken him far, now a successful restaurant owner in Santa Barbara, you can still find Chef Dalan volunteering to cook for community non-profits, teaching cooking classes about plant-based nutrition for the youth and elderly, or shopping at the farmer’s market supporting local produce vendors.
