“Let’s start off with the fact that the whole week we were in Alaska felt like a blur, because it was truly more awe-inspiring than anything we could’ve imagined, making it SO hard to go back to reality after this fantasy adventure that Sam helped us cook up. There were helicopters, tons of different sights, glaciers, and MOOSE! One thing we loved about working with Sam was that it never really felt like we took posed photos; there were prompts and directions, but it really was genuine, she captured us just being weirdly us. Jeff complained about getting his photos taken in the months leading up to our elopement, but the experience was way better than expected (he grew up despising cameras) and all of our photos are so full of life, taking us back to that exact time and place. Also, Sam suggested thinking about our day as an adventure first and a wedding second, and it really helped us realize the potential and plan a day that was way more badass and memorable than any traditional wedding! We certainly don’t feel like we missed out on anything by eloping; in fact, we feel the experience was more meaningful and intentional because we got to experience all of these new adventures together that were uniquely us. Early on in my planning I knew my wedding aesthetic was going to be boho rustic and I wanted a photographer who would be able to capture it well. We found that in Carly, and honestly, she can make any wedding style look fantastic in her photos!! If you haven’t checked out her work, DO IT ASAP! Not only are the photos she takes beautiful, but Carly’s eye for angles and poses is astounding. She’s incredibly talented and SUPER sweet. Both my husband and I are uncomfortable in front of the camera, but when working with Carly, she made us feel super comfortable and being photographed by her was actually fun. She’s also available at a really great price. While searching for photographers with similar style and quality, we found most of them were way out of our price range. Now that she has an associate team, you can get the same quality for even a bit cheaper! I didn’t work with the associate team, so I can’t speak to how they interact with their clients, but if you can, don’t skimp on having Carly shoot for you, I promise you won’t regret it! She not only gives you great quality for a great value, but she even includes an engagement photoshoot! My eyelash came off and I wanted to cry at city hall but she not only made me happy but went to Walgreens to get eye glue lash! That is the type of all hats on board she and her team are. When they had down time before the reception, they even offered to help out non-picture wise wherever they could! She also sends little gifts and surprises but I won’t spoil it. There is one BIG surprise she does at the end but I won’t spoil that either lol.
