This magnificent Georgian-style home was built in 1914 for Cornelius Vanderbilt Truitt, a financier, and businessperson, by P. Thornton Marye, whose most famous project was the design of The Fabulous Fox Theatre in Atlanta. In 1937, the house was purchased by Nasour and Mary Mansour, the first generation of dry goods merchants known regionally for their Mansour’s Department Stores, first in LaGrange and then in other major cities in the region. The Truitt Vanderbilt Club has an incredible array of unique and experiential rooms, nooks, porches, crannies, lawns, and one-of-kind spots to make your special event very special. The Loft at Due South combines the celebrated cuisine of Due South Seafood Kitchen with a polished elegance that fuses perfectly for your special event. We offer an extensive list of menus options to choose from and our chef can customize the menu to fit your needs. We host a variety of events such as Rehearsal Dinners, Corporate Events, Weddings and Receptions, Day Meetings, Seminars, Birthdays, Proms, and many other Family Events. The Loft at Due South is comprised of 3 separate rooms. Each room can be reserved separately or you can reserve the entire Loft. The Main Ballroom has direct access to the bar as well as 2 patios and can seat up to 150 guests. The Augusta Room and The Savannah Room both seat up to 50 guests, but the difference is that the Augusta room has a window and the Savannah room is a bit larger. All rooms are equipped with A/V that are included as an option when reserving the space. Couches and chairs are also available in all rooms for a cozy feel for any event.

The 8,000 square foot Inn with nine guest bedrooms still has its original features: Georgia heart pine floors, ornate tin ceilings, elegant light fixtures and chandeliers, and eleven fireplaces. Azalea Cove Waterside is located on Lake Martin in Alexander City, Alabama. We have great indoor spaces that can comfortably seat more than 60 for an after-rehearsal dinner and the main building can handle about 100. Outside are several covered pavilions, all with great views of the water and surrounding gardens and forest. There is plenty of room in a covered pavilion and around the swimming pools for a reception for about 300. We include tables & chairs but couples can choose their own caterer, florist, photographer, bartender, etc. for maximum flexibility though our on site wedding designer can assist and handle rentals if desired.
