The Villa is a spacious estate home that can be used to celebrate your big day. Its spacious lawn and gardens can host events for groups up to 75 people. Rental of the Villa for an event includes the use of its outdoor spaces, plus numerous photo locations on the 85-acre property. We also include lodging in the five-bedroom Villa for up to 12 people, ceremony and reception furnishings, and day-of services. (We are there to support you through every step of your day!) We also have additional lodgings on the property in our treehouse cabins that can be rented as lodging. We love the opportunity to host family groups who use the whole property. Our Reunion-Style Wedding at Hawkesdene I’ve struggled to put this experience into words because so much can’t be fully captured. My husband and I feel incredibly grateful to have celebrated with family and friends at this stunning estate and charming town—truly the most fun experience! Reunion-Style Wedding for 100 Guests (No wedding package, no weekend venue rental, and we were legally married beforehand to enjoy the day stress-free.) Weekday Wedding: Sunday–Tuesday (Monday was a holiday). Full Estate Rental: We covered the entire property, including optional cabins, but skipped the wedding package so we could fully host guests. DIY Ceremony: No designated aisle or seating (just a few chairs for family). It turned out beautifully! No Decor Needed: The venue is breathtaking, so we skipped decorations. Floral Rentals: Used Something Borrowed Blooms—absolutely perfect. Incredible Food: Every meal was amazing (menu below). Cost: Clearly listed on their website—no hidden fees. Tip: Get event insurance when hosting at an estate. Unexpected things can happen, and it’s peace of mind for you and the next couple. We always envisioned a wedding weekend instead of a single day. Since we live far from family, we wanted quality time together. After extensive research (and almost giving up), we found Hawkesdene on VRBO while considering an elopement in the Georgia mountains. It was the only venue that allowed us to host guests while staying within budget. Itinerary Sunday Whitewater Rafting (10 AM): Nantahala with Carolina Outfitters (highly recommend!) Breweries (1:30–3:30 PM): Hoppy Trout (great private room) & Snowbird Mountains Brewery (provided kegs). Check-in (4 PM) Dinner (7 PM) Champagne Toast at the Peak (7:45 PM): ½-mile hike—steep but worth it! S’mores & Activities (9 PM) Monday Breakfast (8:30–10 AM) Waterfall Hike (10:30–11:30 AM): 1-mile in, 1 out—rain made it tricky but worth it! Lunch (12:30–2 PM) Lawn Games (1:30–3 PM) Ceremony (5:15 PM, DIY setup) Cocktail Hour (5:30 PM) Reception & Dinner (6:45 PM) Evening Activities (8:30 PM) Tuesday Breakfast (8:30 AM) Check-out (by 11 AM) The Food The food was phenomenal—to flawlessly cook this much fish deserves an award. We skipped a cake and were thrilled with the chef’s dessert selections. Menu: Salads: Greek & Balsamic Entrees: Salmon (Night 1), Honey-Balsamic Chicken (Night 1), Trout (Night 2), Steak (Night 2) Sides: Squash, Green Beans, Sweet Potato, Mac & Cheese, Asparagus, Broccolini Logistics & Final Thoughts Jami & Rob were fantastic. If you choose Reunion Style (no wedding package), be prepared to handle logistics yourself. It worked perfectly for us but isn’t for everyone. Their website outlines everything—read it carefully! Alcohol: We used Appalachian Beverage in Ellijay (they have everything). We provided a small amount of liquor, but most guests got their own—so refer back to my event insurance note! Soak it all in. This place is truly magical—like the Disney of wedding venues. We wouldn’t change a thing, and our guests still rave about it. Highly recommend for a unique and unforgettable wedding weekend!

My husband and I hosted our wedding at The Willow and Whisk back in June. We couldn't have asked for a better venue or for better hosts! The property is absolutely beautiful and Andrea and her family were amazing to work with. They were the most gracious hosts and super accommodating for our weekend. We rented the venue from Friday-Sunday for us and the wedding party, which was so convenient for our friends coming from out of state. Andrea also helped me coordinate with all of my vendors, which made the weekend go much smoother than if I had done it all myself. Every single one of our guests had nothing but great things to say about the venue and the experience. We hope to come back and stay for an anniversary trip some day! If you're looking for a secluded yet beautiful venue to host a small wedding or get together, I highly highly recommend The Willow and Whisk.

The Parker Mill is the absolute perfect venue! The views are spectacular and the services offered made our day so much easier to plan. Wagon Master Ranch was absolutely amazing! We had our ceremony outside down by the pond and it was perfect , the twinkle lights and the pond fountain were such a sweet additional touch to the area ! My favorite part of the ceremony area was the handcrafted door just before I walked down the aisle ! The reception building turned out absolutely beautiful with all the decor and different sets of lighting options we had ! The bella room for the bride was gorgeous ! Such a great place to get ready in , my wedding party and I really enjoyed ourselves in such a comfortable area . Our experience at the venue was just perfect for our big day ! We had the tractor wagon to drive our wedding party around . Mr.Roger and Mrs.Debb were awesome to work with . They made us feel like we are part of the family and were so welcoming ! We even invited them to our wedding and ceremony ! They are such a fun couple !

Our ceremony site is surrounded by trees and looks out onto the lake, giving our ceremonies a private, natural, feeling. We are well known for our beach, which expands a large part of our front yard! The beach is amazing for elopements, cocktail hours, cookouts and photos!

The site is LOVELY, and the staff are also. They treated us as special (impossible as that sounds) and helped us to have the sort of wedding reception that we could only dream about. It's a fairly expensive venue, but TOTALLY worth it if you can manage it! (P.S.: We probably are the oldest bride and groom they have ever had, but that didn't seem to matter to them one bit. Don't worry if you are non-traditional.)

Ancient Lore was the perfect venue for our wedding! Mallory was our event manager, and she was so kind and understanding with us! I am definitely a bride who knows what she wants (down to the smallest detail), so her understanding in executing our vision meant so much! She was willing to make exceptions and work with her team just to make sure our day was exactly what I wanted, which was greatly appreciated. I mentioned wanting to have a champagne wall for our seating chart, so they actually made one that they now rent out for other events and weddings because of my idea! We had our ceremony at the woodland terrace, cocktail hour at the axe and archery ranges (highly recommend, it’s so fun for your guests), and reception at the elf nest. Everything looked beautiful, and I could tell our guests had so much fun. The food and drinks were also incredible! All our guests raved about the carrots and meatloaf at dinner, and everyone loved the stuffed mushrooms at cocktail hour. We also had the rosemary chicken, mashed potatoes, and strawberry feta salad at dinner, which were soooo delicious, and the cream cheese stuffed jalapeños and Tennessee bruschetta at cocktail hour, which was just as tasty! I was initially worried about booking a venue that provides catering before tasting any of the food, as I’ve been to many weddings that have had horrible food, but ancient lore really delivered! The staff was also sooooo friendly and sweet to us! The only issue we ran into was some miscommunication when we did our initial virtual tour. Our tour guide had told us all of the reception sites had spaces for dancing and music, however after we booked and signed the contract, we were told otherwise. As mentioned before though, Mallory was willing to pull some strings to make sure we had exactly what we wanted on our day!

This venue was truly a wonderful experience! It is nestled into the smoky mountains away from the hustle and bustle of the city. You truly get an experience of getting away! The cabin was wonderful, and the land is truly beautiful. We had our wedding there in mid November. The venue itself was great too! It all being together was very helpful. We had 43 people, and it fit the venue perfectly. The vendor was really wonderful to work with. They were very kind, and incredibly helpful. We really loved working with them. If you’re interested in this venue, definitely reach out to them. We highly recommend this venue and cabin. We will always cherish some memories made here.

From the moment we started working with Emma at Castle Ladyhawke, we were impressed by their quick, efficient, and warm communication style. The venue itself was absolutely beautiful, with an authentic, charming feeling that made our wedding day feel truly special. The food was fantastic and despite complications it was a beautiful and magical day. While our initial coordinator, Emma, was great to work with over the 8 months leading up to the wedding, we were disappointed to learn upon arrival that she would not be there on the day. Her replacement, Kelsie, arrived late, did not have our updated documents, failed to communicate with the vendors that there was a space for them on the third floor, and seemed to lack the positive energy and personal responsibility we had come to expect. There were also a few small hiccups, like the arch being set up incorrectly initially. But overall, we had a wonderful, memorable day for us and our guests.
