The 1909 stood out among the 15 venues we considered, and we couldn’t be happier with our choice. From the start, we were captivated by the stunning ceremony deck, and during our in-person visit, the venue's unique charm won us over completely. It perfectly embodies the romantic, woodsy vibe we were searching for, with lush greenery that feels worlds away from the busy LA metro area, yet still conveniently close to it—especially for those of us familiar with the Valley. Nestled in the heart of Topanga Canyon, The 1909 offers a serene escape from city life. The venue provides a variety of rental options that seamlessly complement the natural setting, and everything is meticulously maintained. What really impressed us was the rental package—it includes access to the entire event space, from the beautiful ceremony deck and reception lawn to the indoor dance floor and bridal suite. As a first-time wedding planner, I also appreciated The 1909’s transparency with their pricing, which made the planning process much smoother. A special shoutout goes to Cristina, the venue manager. She patiently answered all of our detailed questions and coordinated multiple walkthroughs with us. Her support was instrumental in making our wedding a success, and I can’t thank her enough. If you’re planning a wedding at The 1909 with Cristina, rest assured—you’re in great hands.

We had our daughters wedding reception at the Jonathan Beach Club in their new Penthouse space and it was spectacular. Every aspect of the event was exactly what we'd hoped. The Jonathan Club Wedding Event Coordinator, Christie DeMoss was delightful to work with and had fabulous suggestions. The food tasting was lovely and we felt so special and excited about what our guests would be feasting on! The food was truly elevated and absolutely delicious. The space and the setup were perfect with an outdoor balcony cocktail area and bar, a large lobby for the guestbook, photobooth and activity and then the gorgeous reception space with dance floor. The staff were amazing and so friendly and attentive! I would highly recommend the JBC!

Luxe Hotel

5.0

Los Angeles, CA
  • Up to 250 guests

Your unforgettable event in Los Angeles – a celebration distinguished by lush outdoor surroundings, stylish venues, delicious cuisine, and bespoke service. Hidden in plain sight on seven beautifully landscaped acres near Bel Air and Beverly Hills, we offer a special event venue beyond compare.

Venue considerations

  • No on-site bridal suite

The Luxe Sunset is a beautiful oasis right off Sunset Blvd, with easy access from the 405. It's amazing how quickly you're transformed from the hustle and bustle of the city to serene luxury, as soon as you arrive in the tree-lined grounds of the hotel. More importantly, I want to rave about the staff, and Joshua Washington in particular, who's in charge of room blocks and Kelsey Hernandez in charge of venue spaces. Joshua was such a professional, respectful, and generous hospitality professional. All hospitality and service pros should take note. He was attentive and communicative, without being overly so. And he was just a joy to work with. In full candor, my fiancee and I were looking very seriously at The Luxe for our wedding room block, as well as venues for rehearsal dinner, welcome event and farewell brunch. The Sunset Terrace (breezeway) is a dream of an outdoor venue area. However, due to a number of factors unrelated to how extraordinary the Luxe and its staff are, we ended up going with a different venue. Still, my fiancee and I really love the Luxe, it was really hard to not be able to select it as our home base for our wedding weekend. We wish we could have worked with Joshua and his team for longer, and made use of the incredible settings that the hotel offers. For what it's worth, they're remodeling all the guest rooms. I didn't find any issue with the already-updated guest rooms, but it's good to know they'll be even newer and even more amazing. No disruption to their capacity in the meantime. And at the risk of them seeing this and increasing their prices, I want to say the prices for rooms, venues and Food&Bev were shockingly reasonable. My fiancee and I did deep dives into 5 different venues in west LA, and Luxe had the best prices. If you're looking for an intimate, upscale location that's not far away but still feels removed from reality, definitely reach out to Joshua and the team at Luxe. You will not be disappointed.

Since 2006 we have been Santa Monica's neighborhood spot for specialty coffee, wine, beer & good food. When it's time to throw a party we are the best and easiest place around to host your events. We specialize in welcome events to kickoff the weekend and goodbye brunches but we've also hosted our fair share of wedding receptions as well. Our focus is to keep things simple and fair for our guests when they book events with us.

  • All-inclusive venue packages

Venue considerations

  • No dedicated areas for getting ready
  • On-site parking not available
  • No on-premises lodging options
We recently hosted a private event with a Bodega Wine Bar, and it could not have gone more perfectly! From start to finish, the experience was seamless and memorable. Atmosphere: The space was warm, stylish, and welcoming—exactly the kind of vibe we wanted. Having the entire bar to ourselves made it feel intimate yet lively, like our own hidden gem in the city. Service: The staff went above and beyond for us. Every guest felt cared for, and the service was friendly without ever being overbearing. They truly made us feel like family. Food & Drinks: The wine selection was incredible (so many options to please every palate), and the soju cocktails were just as impressive. The food was flavorful, and kept everyone happy well into the night. Event Experience: What stood out most was how easy the planning process was. The team at Bodega handled the details so smoothly—arranging the space, customizing the menu, and keeping everything on schedule. On the night of the event, we didn’t have to stress about a single thing. Overall, if you’re looking for a venue for a private party, corporate gathering, or any special celebration, a full buyout at Bodega Wine Bar is absolutely worth it. It’s the perfect mix of cozy, fun, and elevated.

Tiato Kitchen Bar Garden

5.0

Santa Monica, CA
  • All-inclusive

  • Starts at $40,000

Whether you are looking for a cozy affair or a lavish event, Tiato offers natural yet redefined, and sophisticated ambiance. In addition to our beautiful interior, our flexible venue features the largest outdoor event space outside a hotel in Santa Monica.

Venue considerations

  • Additional event staff required
  • No on-premises lodging options
  • Not wheelchair accessible
First - the food is delicious and the setting perfect for a wonderful meal. We used them for a rehearsal dinner of 40 and were absolutely impressed by Tiato! We spent quite a lot of time looking for a location for my daughters rehearsal dinner. Many friends suggested Tiato as a perfect location as it has a lot of beautiful spaces including a great outdoor space and wonderful food. The proposal we received from Tiato was so professional, thorough and thoughtful. I was very impressed in my dealings with Stephen Cisneros and knew it would be a fabulous event. We had the most wonderful tasting before selecting our final menu and everything was so good, it was difficult to choose. Stephen and his team went out of their way to make sure our evening was special including providing microphones for speeches, a lovely set-up and, most importantly, amazing food. The passed appetizers were delicious and beautifully presented. Stephen had great suggestions for timing of the event. Easy parking was included and the prices were fair. I appreciated that adding a specialty cocktail (we picked a wonderful berry margarita which featured fresh pressed blueberry, lemon and lime juices) was only 7.50 per person in addition to a reasonable bar package. I highly recommend Tiato for a lunch, dinner or event! Love the food!
