About this venue

The Lodge at Malibou Lake is an historic venue in Agoura, Southern California. We are hidden in the rustic Santa Monica Mountains, shaded by sycamore and oak trees, and beside a storied private lake. The Lodge is located less than an hour from downtown Los Angeles, minutes from the 101 freeway, and a step back in time from the pace of modern life. We host weddings, parties, and corporate events. The Ballroom seats up to 180 with a dance floor, or you may dine outdoors with up to 275 guests on the expansive Great Lawn with a view of Malibou Lake. The Lodge provides catering exclusively by Chef Cordelia, and comes fully furnished with dining tables, chairs, dishware, and lounge furniture.

Our light-filled ballroom overlooks the Great Lawn and Malibou Lake beyond. European wood flooring allows the dancefloor to be wherever you choose, while acoustic fabric ceiling panels create a warm, rich sound tone even with louder dance music. Seats up to 180 for dining.

The Lodge at Malibou Lake is hands down the best wedding venue in L.A. County. It is nestled in the Santa Monica Mountain range just outside of Malibu. It provides a perfect blend of nature, quiet and a beautiful ballroom, which was perfect for our 100-guest wedding. The environment itself is superb, and what truly elevates The Lodge is that they make wedding planning so straightforward. Through the whole process we felt supported by Chef Cordelia and Chef Tiff, whose extensive catering menu is outstanding and has a depth and breadth of options, and she will work with you to make the menu of your dreams. Our guests still have not stopped talking about the food throughout the night and afterwards. Their staff is superb, and their bartenders crafted an amazing blackberry margarita and whiskey sidecar custom cocktails that were delicious.

The Lodge at Malibou Lake is such a hidden gem. I have had the pleasure of helping many couples celebrate their weddings there over the years. Chef Cordelia and her team really know what hospitality is all about and ALWAYS deliver. The beauty of the location, what is included in the rental contract, and the food is AMAZING. The planning journey with the Lodge is seamless, and they truly care about providing a wonderful experience for their clients and guests. If you are looking for a venue or catering team, look no further. The Lodge at Malibou Lake and Chef Cordelia are the best of the best! You won't regret booking with them.

Yes, provided you meet the food & beverage minimum of $4500 for a Monday -Thursday, $7000 for a Friday or Sunday, $8500 for a Saturday

Yes, we have a parking lot in front for guests and a rear parking lot for wedding party, vendors and staff

Yes. Our Ballroom, Library Bar, Front Porch, and Great Lawn are wheelchair accessible. Our dressing suites are not, but we can provide an alternate dressing room which is accessible.

Your reservation includes 4 hours of venue access prior to event start time, 6 hours of event time from start to finish, and 1 hour of cleanup and breakdown.

Yes. We require clients and all vendors to provide liability insurance.

Yes. Our hold policy allows you to place a date on hold for one month. If another client wants that date then you have 24 hours to decide if you would like to book it. Likewise if you would like to book a date which is on hold, then the party with the hold has a day to book or release it. Please e-mail us at [email protected] for our availability.

Yes. We hold a monthly Supper Club tasting dinner at The Lodge. Reservations are $65 per person, and up to 4 dinners ($260) will be credited toward your final invoice once you book your event at The Lodge. To reserve your seats at a monthly Supper Club please email [email protected].

Chef Cordelia is both the operational manager and exclusive caterer, but we can allow off-site caterers for a buyout fee. There is a large flat area in our rear parking lot for your caterer to set up a tented rental kitchen. For a catering buyout we would still provide all operations staff, service staff and bartenders.

The Lodge at Malibou Lake is fully furnished with dining tables, dining chairs, ceremony chairs, dishware/glassware/flatware etc. and lots of additional furnishings included for no extra fees. Please e-mail us at [email protected] for photos of our furnishings.
