Historic Bates Mansion

5.0

Tucson, AZ

The Historic Bates Mansion is a wedding venue located in Tucson, Arizona. Situated in the heart of the city, this historic building was formerly the home of the famous Mountain Oyster Club. The Club, which has been a part of Tucson’s vibrant social scene since 1948, has moved on, but the Bates Mansion remains a place renowned for its splendor and quality service. There, you and your guests are invited to experience something truly extraordinary. Step back in time as you step forward into the future, and prepare to make memories you’ll cherish forever. Owners Jerry and Vanessa Holland celebrated many weddings, as vendors, at the Bates Mansion. They loved it so much that they leaped at the chance to establish their business there. Jerry and Vanessa have reimagined and redesigned the space, and today, it boasts a rustic hacienda look and an inviting, cozy atmosphere.

Where to begin? We are so happy we scouted out this venue when we did and we gate-kept it for as long as we could but nothing can stop an incredible place like this from getting popular. This is seriously THE spot to get married in Tucson. It has the authentic feel with a modern and classy edge that goes with any aesthetic. Did I mention the bridal and groom suites for getting ready? Unbelievably gorgeous and comfortable. Guests were obsessed with the vibe and the many photo ops throughout the space. David and his team, Rashid the DJ, Vince the bartender, Michelle with Atlas Catering, are absolutely unmatched. We were able to customize where we wanted and ask any questions we needed with a quick response time. Sadly, our wedding had a medical emergency occur (everyone ended up being ok!) and everyone on staff was compassionate and professional. They even followed up with us after our wedding to make sure our guest was doing ok. I cannot say enough positive things about Bates, it truly is something special and we feel lucky to have been married there. We'll never forget it 3

I recently had an opportunity to shoot a wedding at Urban Ranch and really enjoyed the venue! Plenty of creative latitude with photography, from the native cactus gardens to the fountain and the green lawns. They have a very nice getting ready suite for the clients and the barn is perfect for receptions. Cool lunge area with fireplace and just all around thoughtful design. Plus the owners are very easy to work with super nice people. Would highly recommend any couple getting married in Tucson to check out Urban Ranch!

I highly recommend this venue for the service and the price. They went above and beyond to make our day special. We could not have any glass items due to my autistic brother having a fascination with breaking glass, so they said no problem. We also wanted our dog to be part of this special day (she was the ringbearer). Lindsey made sure she was comfortable and even brought us a plate of meat to feed her during dinner. Lindsey was on top of everything from getting us a podium for the alter to even helping us with the cake. I am very grateful for all that Lindsey and the Medella Vina team did to make this the happiest day of our lives:)

The day-of coordinator, Sarah, ensured that everything ran smoothly, even when our officiant's ride got lost. The staff used the drawn examples I provided to set up the tables and decor beautifully, so I had no worries as the bride. They were available throughout the event to address any needs, and the casitas were the perfect backdrop for our photographer to capture us getting ready. The rustic setting lent a fairytale feeling to our entire wedding. We are beyond grateful to the Sage Creek team for making our day so perfect.
