Mt. Hood Meadows was the perfect winter wonderland venue for our wedding. From the moment we reached out, the staff was prompt, responsive, and incredibly warm in their communication. They went above and beyond to accommodate our requests, even allowing us to get an epic picture on the chairlift. The venue itself had a charming, rustic feel that was exactly what we were looking for, and the economic value was great. The staff was excellent on the day of, and the wedding went off without a hitch. We were also able to set up our decorations a day early, which was a huge help. The food at the rehearsal dinner at Crooked Tree Tavern was delicious. We are so grateful to Mt. Hood Meadows for making our special day truly magical.

This venue is absolutely amazing. My partner and I both grew up in Hood River and spent years coming here for family gatherings, so getting married at this spot was incredibly special. The grounds are STUNNING—they barely need any decor—and the catering staff was top-notch. We even lost a few things during the day, and both the hotel front desk and cleaning crew went out of their way to help us find them. Truly above and beyond service. That said, I had to take off a star because of the on-site wedding coordinator, Cheyanna. She created a number of last-minute issues and unfortunately brought down the overall joy of the day. The moment all the bills were paid, her attitude shifted to “I don’t want to be here,” and she showed little interest in how the event actually came together. It became clear she hadn’t taken notes during any of our meetings—she didn’t seem to know our timeline and ignored many things we’d already approved, like the candles we brought (which she wouldn’t allow our personal coordinator to light). She also gave conflicting answers without checking with staff. For example, we had pre-arranged to stock the bar with sparkling waters we were providing, which was approved by the venue and bartender. But on rehearsal day, she told us it wasn’t allowed—only for us to later find out from our parents that it was allowed after all. A similar situation happened with taking home leftover food: first it was a no, then a yes when we asked why not. (The food is top notch by the way, all of our guests had rave reviews) She also didn’t seem to be supporting the venue or her team. The outdoor bathrooms weren’t unlocked by cocktail hour, and guests arrived to wet chairs that she did not even check on after a morning drizzle. THANK GOODNESS for our personal wedding coordinator. She truly saved the day and handled most of the challenges that came up with Cheyanna. In fact, she said she might not recommend this venue while Cheyanna is still working there. This venue is a total gem, and with an enthusiastic, well-organized coordinator in place, it will be even better. Until then, I highly recommend hiring your own coordinator to make sure your day runs smoothly.

Wind Mountain Ranch

5.0

Stevenson, WA
  • Up to 175 guests
  • Select services
  • Indoor & outdoor

Wind Mountain is located along the Cascade Volcanic Arc, formed by basalt flows between 5 - 7 million years ago. Though relatively young by mountain standards, it has been weathered by wind and water since a time only the earth remembers. Humans are estimated to have settled in the area around 10,000 years ago, after the Missoula Floods carved rivers into the valley. Over time, these first people became the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde, Stl’pulmsh (Cowlitz), Yakama, Confederated Tribes of the Warm Siletz, Cayuse, Umatilla and Walla Walla. The land north of the Columbia River Gorge is their ancestral home. Wind Mountain carries significance to the Native Americans as a Spirit Quest destination and is home to a sacred archaeological site near the summit.

We had the most dreamy, luxurious, beautiful Gorge wedding at Wind Mountain Ranch September 2024. Being local to the Gorge, I was familiar with some of the WMR/Griffin House team and staff and absolutely loved working with them. Details are not missed and Annie was extremely helpful in helping with some of the details I was unsure of planning on my end as a bride and more, and making sure everything looked perfect on my end and theirs day of. My friends and family are still saying this is the most beautiful wedding they've ever attended. We stayed in the 7 cabins with friends and family the night before and were on site all day before the wedding which was relaxing and dreamy. Having a space for the bridal party to get ready but also spread out as needed in the cabins was perfect. We made breakfast in the cabin kitchens and had hair and makeup done on site. Annie, Marlowe, Courtney and the rest of their team are professionals and made my dreams come true. Having our guests brought in by a shuttle was required as with most Gorge weddings venues, and it was a fun way for our guests to be able to relax and have a safe ride to and from the venue. A dreamy wedding weekend I'll cherish forever and am so grateful for the WMR team for bringing this dream to reality. Can't wait to return for a weekend cabin stay sometime this year.

We are wedding photographers who recently got the chance to shoot at this beautiful venue. When I got to talking with the staff, I was shocked they’d only been open for a little more than a year. It was beautiful and the day flowed seamlessly, the experience made it feel like they’ve been doing this for 10 years. The highlights for us were the beautiful landscaping, tree deck, patio, and indoor space, and the people. Everything was close together (which can be a huge bonus for wedding logistics), and there was some really great areas for group photos. This wedding was in October, so it got kind of chilly and the giant campfire was a huge hit. If you’re looking for a woodsy venue with some really awesome owners, Rocky Hill is it!

Possibly the best decision we made during our wedding process (aside from getting married), was choosing this venue. We were able to rent and use 3 locations throughout the weekend (Pavilion, House 3, and Thunder Island), and each was accommodating and gorgeous in its own way. The ease of having everything from welcome night, rehearsal, ceremony, and reception in the same spot made our logistics 10 times easier. Lots of wedding venues are gorgeous, but what sets the Locks apart is their this place is that they are truly flexible and hospitable. They will actually listen and try to make anything work for you! We had 200 guests so we really pushed the capacity, and the team worked flawlessly to make sure we got what we needed. Jeanetta (the manager) offered so much helpful perspective, was easy to reach and communicate with, and went the extra mile, even helping us put up and take down lights, bringing her personal tools. It felt like showing off the PNW to our east coast and Midwest guests. They were blown away, and so were we. If you want a low-stress, high-flexibility, and completely stunning outdoor wedding, this is the spot. Hidden gem for sure.
